My son turned 17 I didn’t have a regular credit card as I’m building my credit. I told the lady at the front fest while the manager stood there that I had to add money into my credit card (secured card). They never mentioned once that they didn’t accept prepaid cards. They allowed me to swipe my card for $230.00 knowing they didn’t accept the card! We didn’t get to stay at the room, I didn’t get a refund my sons birthday was ruined because being a single mom and just having celebrated his borders Birthday in June took so much money already. So it weird was ruined and now they are still trying to charge my card knowing it won’t even work for their system. Which was what the manager told me after I swiped my card ? not my account is going to be closed due to these transactions that could have been avoided. He lied and told me to contact my card company and now the company is telling me to contact the merchant. No one is helping and this is just all bad I’d recommend staying away from this place they weren’t very helpful the lady was new so she didn’t know and the man he just didn’t show a care in the world!
We stayed there for 8 days. Overall, it was fine but one of the overnight managers was rude, inp, and passive aggressive. The Good: Decent rooms but small than I expected. I’ve been in Residence Inns in New York City with rooms that are the same size as those in Minneapolis. Parking lot is convenient and reasonably priced. Also, our room had 2 Queen beds and a full kitchen. The Bad: WThe night we checked in, we noticed that the oven was on - no idea how long that was on. Also, the stove-oven looked like it was out of the 70’s. I refused to touch. The Ugly: Daily housekeeping. The front desk staff is not on the same page and was not transparent. Instead of the details, the takeaway is the front desk established the wrong expectations - daily housekeeping. I complained repeatedly when those expectations were not met. Each time I complained, I got an apology but no one corrected the expectations by saying we don’t have the staff for daily housekeeping. If I heard that, I would have had very different expectations. In the last month, I’ve been in two other hotels that were crystal clear with housekeeping expectations- it’s not that hard. In any event, this lead to the overnight manager loudly complaining to a staff membe about “some guy constantly complaining about housekeeping. Someone should tell him we don’t have the staff.” It was rude, unprofessional, and he should have had the courage and consideration to address me directly. I don’t recommend staying here.
Even after being a platinum member we were treated very poorly. We were given an awful room and on top of that we were not provided roll on bed, even though we very clearly specified we were a prty of four. We requested our room be switched to a city viewing room and they very clearly told us that since we have entered the room our roon can not be changed as cleaning crew had left for the day.I’d NEVER recommend anyone stay there.
Very nice and clean, friendly staff. Would highly recommend the restaurant that is connected. My favorite was visiting with Hector though! He always had a comment to make me laugh when I was going thru the lobby. (I told him I'd leave a review, and finally 3 months later, I'm doing it!)
Excellent food, service, and location.\\n\\nAs far as in building amenities go, the pool and gym are excellent, and there is electric car charging on the first floor of the parking garage/basement (2 Tesla only chargers, 1 standard electric charger).
Room was dirty and dated, air ducts full of what looked like black mold. Staff was not helpful in resolving complaints. AC did not work in one room. Stains on carpet and furniture. Do not recommend staying there. Not what I have experienced at other marriott properties.
Have stayed in this place thrice during my business trips to Minneapolis. The rooms are of top quality with a small kitchennette. The hotel is walkable distance from downtown and Target Center. The breakfast spread here is one of the best!
Downtown location. Big clean rooms with appliances so you can cook and eat in your kitchenette. We stayed here whilst our house was being painted so we weren't looking at eating out.
The pool was cold and the TV signal kept going out everytime we pivoted the TV. Also the manager was very rude or curt to me which was odd because I watched several people before me check in and he was pleasant and with a smile. But of course a black man would get the nastiest looks the city has to offer. I hate pulling the race card but you can tell the difference in how the customers are handled here. Saturday I overheard staff talking badly about a female guest and her children. Not my business but I didn't know they do that. There was also a drunk lady in the pool area asking children if they know where the bars are downtown and offering to buy them a drink. These kids couldnt be older than 12 or 13 so it seemed pretty unsettling to me. The rooms are nice and the restaurant over at the Renaissance had good food and the hotel location is great. I would not recommend to people of color or people with kids.
Hector at the front desk is AMAZING. I do not have enough kind words to describe how welcomed and helpful he was upon my arrival. He made me feel right at home, gave me all of the information on the hotel, and went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful stay. Whenever I am in Minneapolis I’ll be staying here just because of his kindness. After a long day he really turned my day around. The bar and gym are lovely and the rooms are spacious. The location is great and parking is easy. I definitely recommend staying here. Once again thank you Hector for everything you’ve done to help with my stay. I appreciate you more than words can express!
