The catfish in the clay pot was so damn good. I will be back. Also my friend had pork and shrimp vermicelli salad and she loved it as well. But the flavors in that clay pot was excellent!! You can get it as spicy as you want or not spicy at all. I got not spicy at all. So good!! I WILL BE BACK!!
I've heard a lot of good things about Pho 79, so we finally got to stop by today.Staff was friendly and our waters were topped at all times.I got their brisket and rare beef pho and my husband their pork with rice and pickled veggies. I love a good pho and they didn't disappoint, hands down their broth is amazing and I love the extra bean sprouts, basil and jalalenos on the side. My husnband loved their pickled carrots and his dish.They have a great selection of sauces at the table (sriracha, fish sauce, etc) so you can add some spice if you wish so.My friends got their ice coffee with sweet condensed milk and strawberry bobba tea. Good tasted really good.We will have to come back to try more things from their menu.The tip was already included on the bill, which was nice.
The best place in the TC area for pho, always consistent, delicious, piping hot and so well presented. Their other dishes are delicious as well and the shrimp egg rolls are to die for.
The service was poor and not friendly, I got the sesame wings as an app and they were too hot to the touch and sticky (better as a skewer?), and the lo mein is good tasting, but the carrots were old. It's sad because this place used to be amazing. :(Also, if you want the buffet it doesn't exist anymore and some items listed on the menu are no longer available, like the chow mein for example.
Food, service, excellent. Rich beef pho broth, fresh basil and toppings, and done quick and efficent.efficient. Had beef pho with pork spring roll. Absolutely worth supporting!
Pho 79 Nicollet boasts some of the best Pho on Eat Street at an incredibly efficient pace. Their friendly staff is incredibly accommodating and the menu is full of great Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. I've eaten here several times a week for years and never once been disappointed. One of my most favorite authentic Phở place you can get in Minneapolis especially with the generous portion for it as well! They also have other pretty tasty regional dishes from Vietnam for great price.
My friend soup was too cold. My food didn't have enough seafood in it. My friend's friend food was cold and bland. The first place that they gave us for our serving plates were dirty. When the server gave my friend her soup, she spilled it. There are a lot of other places to go in minneapolis, so make a better choice than to go to this one.

Amazing place. Atmosphere is very cozy, an absolute delight if you are cold and want some hot Pho. If you really want something to warm you up right away (although the Pho usually comes out fast) is the Shrimp Rolls. Fried fresh every time and is a staple to my order.
