If you crave dim sum, this is not the place. Horrible food. Small portions. You will get more at other places for the same price and betterfood quality. Avoid this 12 ‘Yucky’ dim sum place at all cost.
Pagoda is a hidden gem. Not easy to get to with all the road work nearby, and somewhat hidden in a L-shaped strip mall. The inside is spacious, the staff friendly, and the food authentic and tasty.I only have two negatives to mention. No duck on the menu. It is hard to find duck, especially a properly cooked Peking Duck, and I would expect a place named Pagoda to have it on the menu. I do believe I tried them a couple of years ago on Doordash and two types of duck were on the menu. They do not have any now. The other negative is the tables are not comfortable. The style of the tables make them a single table per person, so I kept bumping into table legs. For a petite person, no issue.I had the salt and pepper squid as this is one of their recommended dishes. I also had pork belly. The flavors were very good and the visuals stunning. I was not loving the texture though, but I feel that is a cultural issue more than food issue. The food here appears very authentic, no "Americanizing" to try bring in more customers. The resteraunt is very clean and simply decorated. No cheap paper lamps or other gimmicky decorations. Simple and elegant. The bathroom was well stocked and very clean. The staff friendly and professional. A very good dining experience.
Came for dim sum on a Sunday afternoon. It was super busy and crowded to say the least. The place is a tad small. I give big props to the ladies running the cart and the bus boys because they work super hard and their carts are always full. Made a reservation but still had to wait an additional 10 minutes, considering we came 15 minutes before our reservation. Overall, satisfying.
We went there for dim sun on Saturday around 11:30, we waited at least 30 mins, it was packed! This is the first restaurant offers dim sum buffet, $30 for adults and $20 for kids, free for kids under 4 years old. You don't have to take the buffet deal, you can just pay by the dishe. The dishes are good but they are kinda expensive and smaller portions compare to other dim sum in twin cities. I really like their sweet red bean sesame ball and the bread. Arrive early is the key to avoid the long wait!
Go early right when they open on the weekends, otherwise it's going to be 45 mins to an hour wait! The wait is worth it for all-you-can-eat on Fridays and weekends! It is really reasonable (in my opinion) for about $30 per person. Some of my favorite dishes are the pork riblets, shu Mai, endless mimosas, crispy sticky bun (not sure the exact name but it has ground pork in the middle and it's sticky like sesame balls but crispy in the outside).
We’ve been to the old location frequently so after we know the new location is open, we come right away. The food tastes great and even come with great presentation! The staff here is very friendly. I love the modern atmosphere in the restaurant.
We had the amazing Dim Sum lunch for our anniversary! Everything was super awesome! I love Lychee sake that our server recommended! Dim Sum here was really great it made me feel like I was in Hong Kong I’ve been to HK and had foods from 5 starts restaurants in HK many times before and I swear this place has the authentic foods that if you’re in Minnesota and you MUST try! I love their Dim Sum a lot! Definitely come back to try more from the menu!
The food is good. I just miss the hot pot place by dinky town. There lunch prices is very reasonable for what you get.
Best dim sum I've ever had, fast seating great venue very friendly staff
Pagoda!!!! It is my favorite. I love that the employees recognized us from our college day visits. Always amazing food and outstanding service. I would recommend sharing food family style since the portions are huge. Plus if you get hungry you can always get more the food comes out super quick. Right now they have bottomless sake and mimosas deal for $15 everyday so SUPER worth it. They also have specials on the weekend for dim sum! Love love everything they are doing. The new location is clean and nice. I do miss them at the U, however, I will be visiting them again.
