The lobster roll was delicious. The breaded walleye was a bit bland. The chocolate chip cookies with ice cream was fabulous!
If you are looking for a comfortable and inviting restaurant to enjoy a meal, Nicollet Island Inn should be your first choice. Service and food are excellent!

First visit. We selected the restaurant after it was included in a list of best outdoor patios. However, the record breaking heat meant we were seated inside. Our server was knowledgeable and warm. The manager visited our table during service and was equally warm. The ambiance and crowd (which was very light) is traditional in every sense of the word. It was Fatherâs Day and the diners definitely leaned senior. Itâs such a great and historical location, a revamped menu and approach would definitely set this place up for a revival. I ordered a wagyu skirt steak that was tasty but arrived medium well to extra well done in places, versus the medium rare I requested. My sonâs pork chop was also well done instead of the pink center the server mentioned when he ordered. Overall everything was fine. It was adequate. But with the cost of dining out today, itâs unlikely I would return to someplace with meh food and excellent service.
It was a very special night and we all enjoyed ourselves.
We made a brunch reservation, and everything was perfect from start to finish! Try the steak and lobster breakfast - itâs divine! Our server was excellent and made sure we had a wonderful time.
We love the Inn and while this visit was not up to the norm we have experienced in the past we will be back. In this visit we were seated at a table next to a window. However in this case the window had either not been washed for a long time or there were issues with air between the panes. It was an early Saturday so plenty of seating options. Suggestion: only use this table when you have to.
The waitstaff and service were excellent. Professional and friendly. We had the Rueben sandwiches, absolute perfection.
Always a lovely experience, great location and view and fine food.
Food and service excellent. Prices a little high but this would not prevent us from returning.
