The Masu and Firecracker rolls were prepared MUCH differently than in the past. The sauces were clearly not the same. Probably a chef was not trained properly. The firecracker roll was covered with what tasted like ketchup. To be fair, the buns were prepared properly and tasted normal. Overall, it was a very disappointing meal--the first we have ever had in years at Masu. It was so bad that my wife and I discussed not going to Masu in the future and to investigate other restaurants. I would suggest giving my wife and me a free meal and a note what happened and what actions Masu has taken. Prior to this, my wife and I thought Masu was the best sushi restaurant in the Twin Cities. Obviously, I would not spend the time to write a review unless it was important to me. Prior to this, Masu was our favorite restaurant. Dave Solberg
If you're looking for quality or authentic Japanese cuisine, you might want to look elsewhere. The food was mediocre at best and overpriced. However, the service was efficient and friendly.
I cant recall the last time that I was this disappointed in a restaurant experience.We visited for "happy hour" which was actually just a buck or two off a handfull of their insanely over priced menu items. My husband and I shared 3 rolls. They were tiny, lacking flavor and just not good. My kids liked the edamame and miso soup, but that's about it.We had zero alcohol and were presented with a $112 bill. We left hungry and insanely disappointed. I'd choose just about any other sushi over this. Grocery store sushi is better than what we paid $21 for.
Masu never disappoints! It's one of our "go to" restaurants in the Twin Cities.

Food was very good and our server was amazing. I ordered my first drink here for my 21st and was not disappointed. The servings were large and worth the price.
Excellent service by our waitress Alicia B. She was attentive to our needs and suggested great choices in our menu selection. The only draw back was a couple of tables where they were excessively loud and talking and laughing. Other than that a great experience and we will be back.
