Our server, bless his heart was a bit overwhelmed. However, my meal came out like over 10 minutes before my friend's did.(she took me to lunch for my Birthday)I didn't want to start eating before her's came. Finally, my friend's meal came. In the meantime we had to figure out our own napkin/utensils. I had a BLT and the bacon was way under cooked and odd. Couldn't eat it.Plus, I needed to wait until my friend was served Her beer cheese soup was so salty, she couldn't eat it. She had it taken off the tab. Fortunately, the cooks added fries. I was hungry. Just a bad visit for me this time.
I took a friend out for her birthday and we did not have that great of an experience. This is a burger place maybe we should have order one of them.I ordered wings as an app. and a cup of beer cheese soup with a side salad. (this was a Thursday at 12:10pm)They were out of wings. I reordered a Rueben. She ordered a side salad and a BLT.They brought out her food, she had fries (did not order) She had a full salad as well as a BLT with undercooked fatty bacon and by the time my food came her food was cold, which was ok because her food was bad.My sandwich was fatty meat with gristle, the beer cheese soup was terrible, it was so salty I could not eat it, (and I salt everything.)Our salad were fine. This was a $45 dollar bill.I was truly disappointed, did not live up to the reputation. Our server tried but never even asked how things were or refilled our pop.We were on lunch from work had to grab him for our bill, but seeing as we did not eat our ordered food he may have thought we were still eating. (Again never asked either.)
Great place to unwind when staying at the embassy suites next door. Good food. Had many good beers on tap. Service was excellent.
This place is a go-to place for me for over a decade even though the crowds can be hit and miss. Sometimes there is no one there and sometimes it’s a full house. Pre-Covid they had a DJ and a small dance floor that I hope they bring back.I enjoy their watermelon shots. They have free popcorn. I love their pub pretzels; I could eat a million of them.I had their specialty Chesapeake wings for the first time (Buffalo, Bloody Mary Mix, with Old Bay seasoning). They were to die for. Even my friend from Buffalo agreed (although he said they could be crispier). Not too spicy (I am a wuss to spice). I thought they had a crispy texture and very juicy meat. I can’t wait to order them again.
The food is average but I'm still giving Lyon's 5 stars because the service was perfect. I also work as a server so I couldn't help but notice that her timing was flawless for every interaction. Food came out quickly, the tap beer is maybe a 20 oz(?) pour instead of 16, and the sidewalk patio gives you the option for outdoor seating.
Tremendously good prime rib! Great Husker atmosphere as well.
Made the mistake of listening to the receptionist at the hotel i was staying at, but the more i think about it i think they might be in co-hoots! The place is pleasant enough and our server was very friendly but the food was a real let down. I went with the reuben, the corned beef was fatty and way too chewy, i ended up with napkins full of partially chewed meat, the bread was ok but the fries were a let down too, way too thin and limp although very brown which you would have thought would have made them crispy. #2 went with the special of the day, chicken taco's, again, not impressed but had no comment, #3 went with grilled chicken salad and made sure to ask if the chicken was served warm on the salad which he was assured was, well it wasn't so it was sent back for warming (microwaving probably) #4 got a chicken sandwich and commented it was very dry and the bread was a little stale.. Nice place for a beer or two, after saying that 3 of us got Guinness and we all thought it tasted a little watery. There are plenty of options for these kinds of bar's in Minneapolis so they really should up their game.....
Great to have this place open for lunch Downtown. Was busy, and got lucky to be seated without a reservation. Burgers rein Supreme, but half sandwich and soup is solid. Plenty of beer and cocktail options. Enjoy.
The food was great. The french drip was amazing. My sister had the buffalo chicken wrap and she said it was good. There fries are okay. Friendly service, definitely recommend
Lyon's was like coming back home after two years. I organized a happy hour there with my coworkers. This was a common spot where we used to do happy hours before the pandemic. The popcorn isn't there now, but maybe it will come back.
