Ban Mi and Boba tea for the serious connoisseur. Egg rolls are also delish. Prices are student level. Service is New York City speed with a Minneapolis smile. True eat street gem.

With its fresh baked bread, inviting atmosphere, and reasonable prices, Lu’s stands out as one of the best places for a bahn mi in the Twin Cities. When we dined in, the interior was a bit messy however, there was a fly buzzing around, and it seemed like they were short staffed; that’s why I’m docking a star. Additionally, their boba were on the mushy side. Other than those gripes, the dining experience was exceptional, and that’s a credit to their quality food.I highly recommend visiting Lu’s for a sandwich, salad, noodles, or bubble tea if you haven’t already. We left feeling full and satisfied and it was a pleasant experience overall.

Shares the same build-your-own mechanic as places like Chipotle, but with a Vietnamese menu. The gentleman at the counter asked me if I'd like traditional toppings on the sausage bahn mi I ordered-- I'm glad he did because I had no idea what I was doing, and it turned out delicious. They also have incredibly airy bread with a nice crispy crust on it.

Lu’s has the best banh mi around, and it was my go-to delivery restaurant during the worst parts of the pandemic. It is also probably one of my top five food spots in the Twin Cities.Their food is consistently outstanding, and the service is always quick and friendly. I am absolutely obsessed with their curried tofu banh mi. The flavor of the tofu is unparalleled, the bread is always soft and flaky, and the rest of the toppings are tangy and crunchy. All of the flavors and textures meld to create a beautiful symphony. I also love their fried sesame balls and veggie egg rolls.A few years ago, I went to Lu’s with a friend and her sister. While we were eating, Lu’s sold out of bread and had to close for the rest of the day. A wonderful employee offered for us to take some of the egg rolls and sesame balls for free, since they would have to throw them out anyway. It was the sweetest gesture, and we still talk about it to this day.I recommend Lu’s to all of my friends, and I love taking visitors to try it when they come to Minneapolis.

I had the chicken Banh Mi. The vegetables were fresh and abundant. The bread was pretty good. I think the bread, vegetable, and protein ratio was off.

I really want to love this place, so I'll give them another shot and maybe try the NE location as well. But I was bummed out about my last order here. I ordered a beef Asian noodle bowl online, and they called a few mins later to say they were out of noodles; I agreed to rice as a substitute. According to the online menu, the bowl was supposed to include a Vietnamese egg roll, which I was very much looking forward to. While my bowl was tasty, it was missing the egg roll. I used their online contact form to let them know and request a free egg roll on my next order as compensation, but I didn't get a response, which was disappointing. I know it's a hard time for restaurants lately, so I'll give them another chance and hope my next experience is better.

Really liked this place. The bread was always fresh. But I got double charged for an order back in December and have been chasing down the refund for weeks! They both seem to be trying and not? I hate that the only way to maybe potentially get the $$ back is to leave a bad review. Go for the food but not the customer service, I guess.Edit: Finally received a refund three months later.

Lu's is a fantastic lunch spot and offers a much needed fast-casual dining option to Eat Street. Having tried several of their meat options, I've found them all to be delicious (I'm impartial to the grilled pork/beef) and make sure you get everything on it. The bread is nice and crispy, never tough. Definitely worth a visit!

The grilled pork sandwich was super good; lots of flavor and not too much fat. The pate is fireee! The bread has a nice soft and fluffy texture. The croissants were pretty good. I'd definitely come back to try the different sandwiches.Parking is in the rear. No parking on the side or else you'll get towed. Orders more than 4 has to be done at the kiosk off to the side. The employees seemed to have not figured out a system to make it clear for the pick-up customer.

Wow! Vegan banh mi with tofu was so so good- incredibly flavorful tofu, perfect balance of crusty and chewy bread, fresh toppings. Good size sandwiches for a very decent price. Will absolutely be back.
