Fantastic birthday dinner! The service was wonderful, Jax really knows how to make you feel special. Food is amazing too ?
We had a wonderful dinner at Jax Cafe! The parking was plentiful; the ambiance was sublime; the food was excellent; and the service was top notch. Additionally, their house made Baileys Chocolate Torte (pictured) was the best tasting desert we have ever eaten. Our server James knew the menu thoroughly, and provided efficient friendly service. The restaurant and restrooms were very clean. We highly recommend!
Quite an outstanding and enjoyable experience, through and through! We started off by meeting our lovely waitress, Cyndy, who made us feel at home immediately.Shortly after, we ordered beverages and appetizers, which consisted of Pierogi's and Shrimp Cocktail - both were outstanding and delicious (if you're into pierogi's, you'll love these).Afterwards, we decided on dinner items - we picked the following: Rainbow Trout (which we caught ourselves by the mini river located in their outdoor dining area (super fun and unique experience). Other items we chose included the smothered ribeye w/sauteed mushrooms and onions on a bed of crispy hash browns, and the King cut prime rib.Everything we ate was absolutely spectacular, prepared exactly how we requested, and was served wonderfully. The staff here are the best - truly enjoy what they do, make you feel at home, and create a welcoming experience. For dessert, we had the bread pudding and Chocolate cake (Bailey's Irish cream and more included) - delectable and supremely delicious. Can't say enough about Jax Cafe - we will definitely be back, and are very happy we went!
Had a lovely experience at Father's Day brunch yesterday. We got the earliest seating so things weren't too busy yet, but the food on the buffet was prepared well and seemed fresh. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent; we brought our two little girls and the staff were so kind, even bringing them fish food to let them feed the fish outside! Can't wait to come back.
We had our dinner on the patio. We were back in a corner so it was quiet and more private. The patio was beautiful. A perfect evening. We both had the fillet mignon. Cooked perfectly. We had the au gratin potatoes & loaded baked potato. Easy to get to. Plenty of parking.
Jax Cafe is the place to go if you want a great steak! Five of us went to Jax to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Our table was ready for us upon arrival and included matches stamped with a celebratory message! Nice touch, but back to the steaks. They were cooked to perfection and seasoned nicely. We started with some drinks, went to appetizers, salads, main course and dessert. We never felt rushed and had a fantastic time. This is what dining out should be!Thanks Jax Cafe for a great night out.
Had a great dinner before seeing a show here. Hadn't been, but had heard about it many times. Cool old school vibe. We sat outside, and it was perfect. The patio is gorgeous and the weather was perfect. We had the Lobster Roll with fries and Jax Burger with potato salad. The burger was great. Cooked perfectly. The lobster was good, but the roll was taken over by the other ingredients. Still good, just wasn't our personal favorite. Will probably go back and sit at the bar for desert.
This was my first visit. I went for brunch with a group of friends. The place sits on the corner of a busy intersection, but there is a (free) parking lot across which was nice. They offer a decent amount things on the menu for brunch, and their drink menu is nice as well. Sadly I was not too impressed with the food. I ordered the prime rib hash, and there was hardly any prime rib in it. The fried green tomatoes were bland, and had this thick breading on them. The service was decent, we had a woman named Sheila, and a guy named Mark (I think). They kept the mimosas coming, and checked on us often take sure things were going well. They have an outdoor patio which is beautifully set up! It wasn't the nicest weather so we did not sit outside.
I hosted the May Brown Skin Brunchin' for the Minneapolis Chapter @ JAX Cafe. From making reservations through the end my experience was pleasant. We enjoyed the ambiance, service and food and the fellowship of sisterhood.
I cannot believe I only learned about this place now. The feel of the place is more like an old supper club. The prime rib and popover are must-haves!
