I arrived at first draft this evening to attend trivia that they typically have on Thursday nights. When I arrived I sadly realized that they had canceled it last minute. Their website still reported that they were holding the event… My group was very disappointed. I am upset because I really enjoy this place in this situation has dampened my feelings on the establishment.
Such a fun experience! You get your wrist band and if you just test it each beer/mixed drink/wine, it's really not that expensive! They have games to play as well, which is perfect for the environment. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Employees are super kind and helpful.
Pretty unique way of setting up a bar. The variety is good, beers are definitely the way to go here. The food completely surprised me, the cook is insane, the burgers are the perfect size and proportions, makes mean mac&cheese (probably the best one I’ve had). Prices are not cheap but it’s definitely worth it and you’re paying for quality
This is a unique style of bar. You get an electronic wristband tied to your tab and a free to grab a glass, swipe your band and pour your drink. Turn in your wristband when done to close out your tab. No need to wait for a waiter/bartender. They have a great selection and something for everyone. Don't come here with the expectation of food, as they may not have anyone to work the kitchen for you, which is what keeps this place from a 5 star rating.
This place is super cool. Choose your own glass and self pour, plus tasty burgers in house. And it’s not just beer, there’s wine and cocktails, too. Atmosphere is cool, typical modern industrial. Cool date space, equally accommodating for friend groups. (Just remember to LOCK your cars - thieves amuck!)
Great place with a nice selection of wine and beer to choose from. Hosts a lot of events throughout the week that change the atmosphere to something different every time. Good location to bar hop from as well.
Honestly, one of my favorite places in Minneapolis! And Liam is the best worker ever! Very attentive and helped me before he was even asked to! Give that dude a raise! 12/10 def go here!
Discovered my new fave beer tonight. Recommend you go and find yours.First Draft is a really fun model for exploring beer (and more)! Get a wristband and use it to pour any size glass of beer, wine or cocktail on the self service taps. I saw this concept for years ago in New Orleans and I’m so happy it’s come to MN. I liked the number of MN and regional beers showcased. Plus, live music by Matt Griswald set a chill tone. A pop up kitchen features different foods. Go already!
I liked the vibe and the pour your own beer options. I was there right before closing so it was pretty quite. They had lots of variety.
The only reason that this place gets three stars is because of the manager's efforts to make this work. 90% of the beers are cloudy IPAs. The whole model of the business is ridiculous. This would work well in a large train depot or airport but doesn't really have any use in an are that people go to looking for decent bars.
