I stayed here one night for a short-notice trip, so I checked in late. It has a chic, cool vibe. Hallways are dark and quiet. The lobby has a large area to meet folks and hangout. Again, a little on the dark side. This hotel was originally a bank and they have kept some of those architectural details int he lobby area including the Art-De style elevator and a vault door near the coffee shop. Check-in was smooth. It took me an extra trip around the block to get to the car entrance. My room was on the 10th floor was quiet. I appreciated being able to make the room pitch black. Outlets with USB slots were next to the bed and on the adjacent couch. The bed was firm, pillows excellent. The bathroom was spacious and I like how they have large bottles of shampoo, conditions and soap in the shower. I dislike the waste of the small plastic bottles. Valet parking was $48, self-park was around $20. The complimenarty breakfast for Platinum Rewards member was in the lobby coffee shop. I grabbed a smallish, but tasty breakfast burrito with a lot of bacon. I don't drink coffee or tea. They didn't have any soda, but I was directed to the front desk and was given one. The only not I would pick is minor, The bathroom light switch was behind the large handicap accessible door so I needed to shut the door before being able to turn on the light. I've stayed at many Marriott properties in Minneapolis and the area. This is a solid choice.

*edit* Pete the bar-tender adds 2 stars to the Emery's rating. Despite my concerns which still hold -- you need to hire people if you can't cover monday dinners -- however if you go to the bar - ask for Pete that guy is a pure professional. Remembers his customers. Makes you feel at home and not an anonymous traveller. I would suggest Pete needs a raise. Follows: my original review (which was 1 star):\\n\\nThey don't believe that their guests will need dinner or perhaps want a glass of wine for their room - on Monday nights. Yep bar and restaurant are closed Monday. How is that possible? I've stayed at holiday inns that have food and drinks on a Monday. Surely the Emery can do better. Closest food is like 5 blocks away. And yes that's outdoor walking. Don't ask me what was on my sheets when I checked in. Plus side, rooms are nicely appointed. Location is good if you need to be downtown. Make sure they actually changed the sheets on your bed tho

Stunningly elegant hotel with lots of marble in the heart of downtown Minneapolis- wonderful & inviting open areas to loiter in with comfortable ambiance- great open bar area- apparently building was previously a bank - very cool!

I visited with a friend in Minneapolis and we decided to stay here on a Friday night as a kind of get away. The staff was delightful the whole time. It is located within easy walking distance of most any location downtown you'd want to go. The coffee house was fabulous and after it closed was a great place to hang out. We did not eat at the restaurant, but we did stop for drinks at the bar and, even though they seemed understaffed (isn't everyone?) they were prompt and polite. The room was exactly what we were looking for, albeit the shower door will need replacing soon. If the price doesn't shock you, I think you will generally be pleased.

The studio rooms are large, comfortable, and not your standard box room (do not stay here if you cannot handle stuff not on a 90° angle).\\n\\nOutside of the building is very drab and I was concerned at first that my ride did not drop me off at the right location. The hallways are very noir with low lighting, black doors, and dark carpet which is in stark contrast to the rooms.\\n\\nFront desk staff were excellent and the restaurant bar staff \\u0026 manager were top notch professionals. The food was delicious and the bartender was spot on with a cocktail recommendation.\\n\\nDo not forget to check out the coffee shop on the first floor. Top notch treats (the rhubarb tart is a must) and delicious drinks served by counter staff who were excellent.\\n\\nIt was tough to get a ride share service to come down to the city center on the weekend due to that area being an urban desert since everything else is closed) so take that into account for plans.

I ate dinner at the on site restaurant Giulia. The food was delicious & the service attentive & welcoming. The decor of this property is very cozy & comfortable.

Nice rooms but the amenities are completely lacking, still hiding behind “Covid” to justify not having any dining or a restaurant? Instead of any breakfast or places to get food you get a cup of coffee? Is this a joke

It was my first time staying at the Emery. It came up on a search in Hotwire. It is a beautiful property, friendly receptionists and restaurant staff. The Spyhouse coffee shop was a different experience. The staff seemed pretentious and ran out of daily specials. There is no room service, so ordered from DoorDash for what ever I needed when I wasn’t with friends. I am actually staying there again in June, now knowing what to expect and make concessions when needed. Overall, I would recommend it as a wonderful place to stay.

My girlfriend and I were going to a conference and we wanted to plan our budget to be better prepared, so we called the hotel to find out about the deposit. We were advised that the deposit is $75. We took this info into account and planned our budget. The day before check in, I received an email offering to check in online in advance. I did so and received a confirmation that my check in was successful and I'll receive a text or email (I elected text) when my room is ready and with instructions on when and how to pick up the room key. On the day of arrival, I didn't receive any text so I had to go to the front desk. A blonde lady at the front desk checked us in and requested a payment for deposit. She never mentioned the amount, but we were tired after the flight, so it didn't even occurred to us to ask. We gave her the card, she charged it without saying a word to us or giving us a receipt or anything. But we thought it was $75 so we weren't too worried. However, later on that evening, when we were out in the city we noticed that we have a few hundred dollars less in our account than we were supposed to and that's when we found out that we were charged $225 deposit which is actually 3 times more than what we were advised on the phone just a day prior to our arrival. I'm sure the hotel management can find the recording to verify our words. On top of that, why the front desk didn't verify the amount before charging my card?? Since when a merchant doesn't need customer's authorization for the needed amount before charging? Is that even legal? First we got incorrect deposit amount that ended up being being PER NIGHT that no one bothered to mention on the phone when we first called and by the way that affected our budget, thank you!! Secondly, the front desk didn't confirm the amount with us at all before or after charging our card, and this also can be confirmed by the hotels security camera. Thirdly, their online check in is a joke, I wasted my time for nothing and had to go and check in at the front desk in person. Finally, when I was in the room and wanted to get wi fi, the connect button wasn't working properly and it took me clicking it like 20 times before it finally connected. I'm extremely disappointed in the hotel especially considering its Marriott. I can't believe that Marriott doesn't train their staff to be transparent with customers. They're actions are unprofessional and no nobody cared. I will never stay here again and I will make sure to post this review on Expedia, Google, and social media, and of course tell my friends and family about the hotel's shady practices so they stay somewhere else if ever in Minneapolis. Emery Autograph by Marriott should be ashamed of themselves.

Had a lovely one night stay at Emery! Clean, interesting decor, professional staff, good restaurants in the building. Absolutely no complaints!
