I paid $18 for a mediocre burger and $8 for a beer. I had a better burger for $10 before. My wife got a half a sweet potato with sour cream and two pieces of bacon for $12. Food tasted good but waaaay over priced. You are basically over paying for apple beez quality food. Way better restaurants in the area for the same price. We went here at 5pm on a Saturday and the whole restaurant was empty.
Starting off was great. Our waiter was very responsive and everything came out timely. As soon as the main course came out, our opinions on the place went on a slight decline as our fries were cold. We mentioned it to the waiter and got a big [email protected]$ plate of piping-hot fries in return on the house(which were phenomenal). We got the shrimp bruschetta (amazing & unique), the roasted chicken (also very unique & solid), and lastly the steak sandwich (medium-rare) which was outstanding!Great service, great food, and great location???
We had dinner here on a cold winter night and it was fantastic. Our wine glasses were quickly filled, the apps were tasty and well portioned. We usually do dessert but were stuffed from the apps and meal. Great meal, great service (nice job to Mitch!), highly recommend!
Fabulous place. Never disappointed. Whoever makes those pork buns deserves a medal. And I love our last waitress that suggested some delicious pear martini. We will be back.
Food is SOOO good! I had the Korean tacos and Parmesan crusted walleye.
We enjoyed a dinner on January 22nd at Coalition. While the food was delicious, the restaurant's policy of NOT ENFORCING either the vaccination requirement or mask wearing requirement was in violation or City of Minneapolis ordinances. We were very disappointed because we came to this restaurant to support it with our business.Even the waiter that came to our table was not wearing a mask. Several customers throughout the evening came into the restaurant and walked around with no masks. We were not asked and we subsequently saw no person to show proof of vaccination.So if you are looking for a restaurant that is taking and enforcing these practices seriously, DO NOT go to Coalition. The restaurant's practice of flaunting the required city ordinances leaves both its customers and staff at risk of being infected with Covid-19.
I was here on a -3 degree day. Not surprisingly, I order a bowl of pasta bolognese to warm up. I have to say the food was cold. It was like someone poured a cold pre-made sauce on top of room temp noodles with a dollop of super cold sour cream. Brrr... this is MN folks we want to see steam rising from our dishes in January. Our waitress was both friendly and attentive, not her fault.For the price though, would have like a larger portion served warm.
I heard great things about this niche spot, so naturally I had to drive all the way from Florida to check it out! Great food, chill atmosphere, and extremely fast turnaround. Coalition has become a staple of mine when I'm passing through the suburbs of Minneapolis.
Three of us ordered breakfast. The Classic Breakfast, Walleye Benedict, and French Toast.All of it was Yummy!The Walleye Benedict featured two walleye cakes, perfect size, wonderful flavor. They were topped with two poached eggs, the poached eggs were a little over cooked. The hollandaise sauce was light and tasty, and the right amount of sauce was served. Needed salt and pepper. The hash browns appeared to be fried in butter. They were crunchy good. Num!The three pieces of ciabatta French toast was topped with a thicker egg dip, so good. Nice amount of cinnamon, all around very good French toast. Butter was soft and easy to spread. The right amount of syrup was served.Although we didn’t have a beer they offered a nice cross section of craft tap beers.The restaurant was so clean and the windows were spotless inside and out. The bathrooms were very nice and clean.The service was excellent. Friendly, helpful, responsive and quick.I would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning. Maybe for my birthday in two weeks!
