The food is mediocre with bad service. I blame only the girl taking orders, but she was very rude. The menu itself says Canadian bacon on it. When I asked to have that added to my order she gave me attitude when she said "What do you mean Candadian bacon? We have ham or bacon? What do you want?" Either change the menu or educate your employees. She could have just asked for clarification nicely.
I work here. If you decide to come visit us and are attempting to order please use your eyes to locate the “order” window (there is a sign located above the window and usually there is a long line of people waiting patiently to order their food) instead of poking your head into the window and getting upset when an employee explains to you that you cannot order there because it says “pickup” (there is a different sign located above the window). There is also a “this window is closed sign,” this means that you cannot order at said window. Thank you everyone!!!
I love this spot. Stopping at Lake Harriet for a walk in the summer is a dream, and I love stopping here for a beer or coffee and food. It never disappoints.
You likely won't get all the ingredients you're expecting when ordering food here. Quality would be disappointing at half the price. Beautiful location.
No warning from restaurant staff that Lobster in Lobster Roll was replaced with shrimp. No Mayo or sauce on shrimp. Very blah sandwich. Not up to the usual high standards.
The ice cream I ordered ($4 for a skimpy scoop) was liquid…melted…before it was put in my hands ( thankfully in a cup). When I asked the kid behind the counter, he said it was all of hat flavor they had. If there hadn’t been a long line behind me, I would’ve refused it and asked for a different flavor. But, I played the uncomplaining Minnesotan and accepted it.As we were sitting table nearby eating our ice cream (soup, actually), a woman walked by 3 minutes later…eating a cone of nicely frozen ice cream…the same flavor.Very disappointing.
It was an idyllic way to have breakfast this morning, sat by Lake Harriet bandshell and had a coffee and breakfast sandwich overlooking sailboats on a glass smooth lake. Good for the soul! Many offerings, friendly staff.fresh food many offerings!
For a food kiosk on the lake, better than it has a right to be. Has been one of our favorite places to take our daughter - they have burgers, ice cream, good fries, and beer for dad. Some seating around the building but better to bring a picnic blanket and take your food into the big grassy park. Good for a breakfast stop in the mornings as well.
Pretty good!! Long lines that move decently quickly. Prices were high but competitive. Seating in the area which isn't terribly clean, but works. I do wish they had a better system than someone yelling out order numbers. It's not very effective for people who are Deaf/hard of hearing and even hearing people were missing their numbers being called. Though the man who was yelling was pretty loud so props to him.
Best fries in Minneapolis, fried to order so they're as hot as possible, salty, and potato-y. Exactly what you want in a french fry!
