I love that they finally put their cost into their showcase prices and there are no surprises anymore. I am all for fair wages but it always feels odd that they charge random percentages for food as if preparing a coke is the same to preparing pulled pork. Their food is delicious and it is my comfort food. I have learned to order the right amount of plates without breaking the piggy bank.I like their update on the fast-food like ordering, it makes sense. But also that they have a pleasant dine in experience. My favorite plates are chicken (of course), pulled pork, rice and black beans, collard greens, and sweet plantains. the Family meal is a good deal and I want them to keep it. Easy to order and delicious. Keep it up Brasa, you bring me home everytime I eat your food. Thank you!
Brasa by Lake Harriet is awesome. This location doesn't know what dark meat is on a chicken. Then why ask me what I want if you're going to give me the opposite?! ??♀️Totally ruined lunch as I was gagging my way through dry lumps of chicken breast, but I was hungry and had to eat. ?
This post rating is recency biased. The food here is nothing short of sensational. I usually go for the smothered chicken. So if you’re doing take-out, you shan’t be disappointed.“But why the one-star then?” You all ask.Today was my first attempt at dining in at this place and was very eager to begin my journey with the smothered chicken once more. Everything was setting up perfectly: I went at 3pm so there was hardly a soul, it was just going to be me and this feast. I couldn’t have been more excited… only, after the waitress seated me, she never came back to take my order. I waited and I waited and I waited, but she wouldn’t come back. After 15 minutes of no one to acknowledge my existence, my eagerness and excitement vanished, and so did my flesh from this establishment.I’ve always been a fan of the no-tipping concept, but I must admit, this experience made me ponder its effect on the performance of those that have already earned their stripes and have nothing to gain.I will no longer dine-in at Brasa and after what happened today, I may have lost my future appetite for take out as well.
Delicious! I wasn't expecting anything mind blowing. Just something simple and good. Definitely met that expectation. You order from your phone after scanning a QR code. Food comes out in 10 minutes. Water and extras like boxes and additional napkins and utensils are self-service. Probably because of this, they don't charge tips. Which I very much admire. Overall, a great experience.
It's ok . The chicken is good the plantains are delicious. I didn't like the greens, Mac and cheese. Yams were ok. Catfish is tasty but the quality and texture isn't. One server had a bad and dry attitude. She was short, quick and unattentative, I have her a generous tip anyway, then I remembered she was that same way the last time I was there. I've only been twice, I won't go back.
My partner and I wanted to try Brasa for several years. We were told via word of mouth from several locals that the food was awesome and to check it out. Due to 2020 statewide COVID shelter in place orders and us staying closer to home in general nowadays we were unable to give it a try until now. We tried a variety of dishes. We ordered the rotisserie chicken, smothered pulled chicken, slow roasted pork, collard greens, yellow rice with red beans and the sweet corn cornbread muffins. The food was just meh. Mediocre at best. Basic fare. In our opinion there was nothing that stood out as a must return for soon item. We were really disappointed. Where was the lip smackingly good food we were told awaited us at Brasa?! The total bill versus the quantity and quality of food that we received is outrageous in our opinion. $6.50 for two corn muffins ?!! $32.00 for one pound of roasted pork and it was very dry! This felt like a total waste of time and money. This visit to Brasa will be a one and done for us.
Love love love this place and all they stand for! Delicious food and amazing people work here. It is a no tip environment and with the set prices they have they give their employees a proper wage, benefits, etc.. The food is always consistent - highly recommend the Yuca fries and fried plantains. It’s also gluten free minus a few small items so they are conscious of food allergies
Always really delicious food and kind staff. I live and work close enough that I go there pretty frequently, and it's never been bad. Even when they're slammed, the quality is always there (and I get the egg dish a lot, so props to them for always cooking it perfectly no matter what!)
We booked Brasa Catering for our daughter's wedding. Our family has several Celiacs and truly gluten free food was necessary. Not only was the food GF, it was very tasty and everyone enjoyed it. However, what I was more than impressed with was the catering staff who set everything up, took everything down and did everything needed in between. They were hard workers, very attentive, kind, and extremely helpful! Would I book Brasa for catering again? Absolutely!!!!!
Great catering and wonderful staff! Efficient, fun and professional.
