I had a very weak gin tonic (ordered a separate shot of gin to add to it) Bar was delayed so the oysters arrived before our drinks.Oysters were not fresh, lobster salad was unpalatable mush of tiny pieces of lobster with, inexplicably, small blueberries (?) in it.Ravioli was excellent- lamb filled. And Dover sole was good except for weird side of toasted bread topped with shaved vegetables.Did not order dessert. All staff were lovely - knowledgeable and efficient. Our second time there. First time was about five (maybe more) years ago when the experience was about the same…thought we’d try it again and probably won’t be going back.
Excellent food and very friendly staff!Ordered the tartare, ravioli and rabbit. Food was very fresh and well prepared. Lot of unique flavors; not just the average fare. Ordered the Contessa cocktail, which very well crafted.I’m new to the area and the bartenders (one was Emily?) we’re super nice and actually took the time to write out a few local coffee shops to try. They also have great recommendations on what to try/pair on the menu.I’ll definitely be back.If you have time, check out the place downstairs too. Excellent cocktails.
Three stars only because of the awesome atmosphere, and good service, but the food is not so great! The Tartar was not great at all, the octopus was chewy, and the pork steak was overcooked. Deserts were weird and not great at all, maybe three stars only because of the desserts only. I can deal with overlooked steak, but desserts! My heart was broken.
Borough is fantastic. Great cocktails and food. We come here every few months and they never disappoint. Most recently we had their pork chop, ravioli and smoked carrots. Everything was amazing.
The staff and food are amazing. Joe is an amazing chef and I look forward to trying something new each time I go. The mushroom risotto is a must as well as the octopus!
Celebrated our V-Date weekend here tonight and it was sooooo good. I believe our waiter was Adam (?) and he was amazing! He was super attentive and had wonderful recommendations across the whole menu, from beginning to end. While yes, the food is pricey, I believe you are paying for what you get at the Borough. Its incredibly delicious and well thought out! The chefs homemade Korean BBQ sauce on the pork chop tonight was to DIE FOR. The only recommendation we have for the newly updated menu is to please remove the pickled strawberries off the Vanilla Panna Cotta dessert, was an unexpected taste and did not go well in the recipe. Love yall!
Delicious and fantastic atmosphere and service! Great for date night or before a show. The servers are the perfect amount of attentive, the smell of all the food is mouth watering and tempting without being overwhelming, and the cocktails are delicious!
The waiter was very unprofessional and made my girlfriend very uncomfortable. He removed his mask at the end of dinner to quote him “show his face to her”. That was one of the most uncomfortable experiences I’ve had as well . The food was good and I had no other issues.
We are trying out new restaurants across the Twin Cities. This was one of our first for 2022. The drinks were typical of this type of restaurant, well crafted and original. Tried the sprouts and they were very good. The mushroom risotto was great. Overall the food was very good and the drinks were great. The atmosphere was typical and I would recommend trying it out.
The staff were super friendly and the valet service was a huge plus for this freezing night. A couple items on the menu stood out as absolutely superb whereas some others seemed experimentive and in need of some extra fine tuning. All in all we had a really great night in a fine dining experience and atmosphere you'd come to expect from the loop.
