Wife & I really enjoyed our dinner last night at Billy Sushi. Good service, nice ambiance with nod to Japan sushi restaurants. The highlight was the fresh fish and our tuna dish. We also ordered the grilled tuna collar (try it if you haven’t, it’s one of the best parts of a tuna). Rolls were a good size. We’ll be back and recommend it. Cost was $150 for 2 people (food and drinks). I’d skip the seaweed salad next time. Also, the sushi bar was tight and we couldn’t open 2 menus side by side, so I felt cramped to me. I’d request a table if possible.
Such an amazing dining experience packed into 2 hours. From the attentive service, the world- class menu from sakis, to the flavorful sides, the amazing presentation and quality of each and every roll my family couldn't rave enough about each bite. Plus ive never seen a dehydrated towlette thats quality stands up to event the heftiest of napkins. Billy has a great staff and the best sushi in town ?
Very nice. Polite and great tasting food. Would highly recommend.
I enjoyed the expirence here. The sushi was beautiful and tasted great! And the service and space was really cool. The menu was massive but still readable so that was good! The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the not sushi (the yaki soba to be exact) it had an interesting apple cider taste which I am not a big fan of haha. But other than that it was an amazing place and would recommend trying their sushi
Had a fantastic experience at the bar with Mike. He was really pleasant to talk to, had great knowledge of the food, the whiskey, and the saki. This place has fresh wasabi too!!! Very hard to find that stuff. I think it’s by request though. I liked the atmosphere too, music wasn’t too loud and it added to the experience. Would definitely recommend!
Came here for Mother's day. SCALLOP sashimi was good, some omakase side orders waygu and Toro toped with caviar were the best tasting, waygu hand roll was delicious, the only thing that was disappointing was the Hamachi kama it was too salty and the salmon sashimi was definitely not fresh. Over all I would go again service was impeccable now I know what to order. The rolls were standard but that's just my take.
Best sushi in Minneapolis by a long shot. Every roll was fresh and masterfully balanced as far as flavor is concerned. Staff was amazing and on point in every single facet, drinks were great and extremely varied. I was also lucky enough to get a seat at the sushi bar and got to watch the chefs in action and it was amazing. I might've accidentally photo bombed an award placement so hopefully I'm allowed back.
The seafood here was very delicious. The thick slabs of fish on the seafood platter I believe was my favorite. The different rolls we had were delicious as well. We needed to take off mangoes as one of our crowd was allergic. They actually forgot this and this could have been very dangerous. Overall the staff was very helpful. Will be in again soon. I also had their whiskey drink which was very tasty. The smell of it was pretty incredible. We ordered a pine ridge bottle which was a good supplement to the sushi. The avocado bites were so good, they had a type of truffle sauce on them. Definitely recommend getting those.
I have mixed feelings on this place. I love the atmosphere AND the sushi.. SO GOOD. The sushi names are funny & clever. But the service is very slow and it's NOT good for groups. They don't let you split up the check. The past few time I've been there, I've still been hungry after leaving. BUT the sushi is gorgeous and so delicious.
Such a great place to eat and be social. Love this place. The food amazing. Super fresh. The drinks are expensive and small so be prepared to love the taste but not the bill for alcohol but you should know that going in. To be expected. The sushi itself is great. Try the wagyu! Great service all around as well. #1 sushi spot in Minneapolis.
