Our first bbq joint in MN. Really solid. Just down the road from us since we're in Fridley. Service was great. Our server even suggested we get the rib platter vs the 3 meat platter since we were just getting ribs. We had ribs... They were tender with a decent smoke ring. Very much more competition style than fall of the bone. They put a good rub on them so they taste pretty good all on their own. Their sauce are good. I preferred the Sassy Beast, then the Beast. I'm not a fan of mustard sauce so the Cackalacky was not for me. We also had the creamy slaw, potato salad, mac and cheese and some pretty good garlic toast. I liked them all. They even had some pretty good bread and butter pickles on the side. There was enough to feed 2 adults and our 15 year old hockey player son. In fact we couldn't even eat it all and brought some back. This is our litmus for bbq in MN now. All others will be judged against the Beast.
The food was just ok. We had a platter with all of the meats. The ribs were decent. The pulled chicken was dry, the skin on chicken was dry and the salmon was fishy. The creamy coleslaw had kale in it that really made for a dirty lettuce flavor. The beans were mush. The fries were good. Not enough positive attributes to make me want to come back.
Excellent BBQ with a unique menu of entrees! They also have a vegan (BBQ Jackalope) and vegetarian (Portabello sammie) option. Shared a three meat platter with the pulled pork, brisket and BBQ jackalope ribs. The BBQ jackalope gad great flavor. We got the corn, BBQ beans and brussel sprouts for our sides. The brussel sprouts were my favorite but all sides were delicious! The BBQ beans are a little spicy but sweet. All of their BBQ sauces were great so I couldn't choose just one to use. Our server was great and came back often to refill drinks. Their bathroom was also really clean and nice. Great place to take anyone out to eat! I defiantly will be back to try more menu items.
Excellent replacement of legends though sad i had seen it leave.. well renovated and spiffed up! love the moist, sweet, perfectly cooked meat; ribs, pulled chicken & brisket, greens, and deep fried Brussels! Was my first and far from my last time being here so close in NE.
Brisket was good but not as great as it could be. Wontons were strange but not necessarily bad. The spicy BBQ sauce was delicious. Mostly giving this a low rating because the portions were tiny for the price (see mac and cheese pic)Unfortunate update: I ended up getting sick from this food
Beast Barbecue hosted our rehearsal dinner and OMG THEY ARE THE BEST! We had such a wonderful experience with them from start to finish. They were VERY accommodating of all of our guests and needs. Our guests were so impressed with the food - as were we! It was so wonderful having the entire downstairs to ourselves with our own bar and bartenders - it truly was a private event! I would choose them again in a heart beat! Thank you Beast Barbecue for such a WONDERFUL experience I am so glad we hosted our event with you!
This is a fun place with good food. I loved their tangy coleslaw and asparagus. We also enjoyed the ribs, pulled pork, brisket stroganoff, and the little one are 3 helpings of mac and cheese.The people who worked there took the time to come talk with us and even did some magic for our grandaughter. Object permanence was tested. You could see her confusion. ? We had a great experience and will be back.
Nice place to stop with friends. Nice seating, many TV monitors. BBQ ribs tasty. Didn't care for the pulled pork. Chicked Nice taste.. Baked beans spicy and tasty, collard greens ok. Nice beverage menu. Want go back for my meal of the day, but will return for drinks at the bar with friends and maybe wings or hushpuppies.
Awesome menu, most of which is gluten-free. Some of the best ribs I’ve had in the Twin Cities. Loved the “Beast New Fashion” cocktail. Very spacious and comfortable. Really awesome big band playing on a Tuesday night!
The food was hands down some of the best Barbecue we have ever had. I had the Brisket Big Mac and OMG..,, yum. My entire family was raving about how delicious all of it was the whole way home. The employees were all very awesome and chatted with us and our adorable grandson, and we will definitely be back! So delicious!!!!
