We were driving through from out of town. I found this restaurant on Yelp. We were very pleased with our dinner
Mediocre at best. Came here for a family celebration for the birth of new child and was quickly reminded why we don’t come here. Manager on duty was extremely rude and condescending. Perhaps his pony tail was too tight? Ashley our server was amazing. Bartender Jamie seemed to have an attitude that would turn even the most tolerant of people away. Her quote Of “ I don’t work for tips, I just expect them.” was enough to turn even the worst of customers away. There were 5 people outside of our group of 15 in the entire restaurant. They expected everyone, even handicapped people, to walk all the way around the outside of the restaurant to get inside and use the restroom. Apparently the patio door is only for employees and their friends. The manager on duty thought it was his duty to act like a bouncer and try to physically start an issue with those trying to get into the restaurant. Regardless, this restaurant used to be worth the 35 minute drive, now I wouldn’t go back if I was across the street at the hospital. Troy, you used to be a commendable manager/owner, but clearly now you’ll hire anyone to fill a shift. Unacceptable. Zero out of 5 starts would be the better rating.
Very nice place with friendly service. 3-6 Happy hour drinks and app special was a nice touch. Try the roasted brussel sprouts
Had an amazing brunch yesterday ~ I tried the smoked salmon stack and my partner had the Chilequiles. We got a side of hash browns to share as well. Both meals were perfectly portioned and tasted delicious! They had a few hot sauces to choose from as well; CBC is the bomb!
Barely-cool bubbly? No thank you. Lettuce wraps are ?. Sent those back. Burger was prepared as requested then BURIED beneath 3” of shredduce( super-cheap, drive-thru-style lettuce). Service was great, so thanks for that! But without craveable food to back it up? No thank you. :-/
Food was good but I thought 24.00 for 5 small shrimp was a bit much. Liked the decor and staff but was surprised to see a "wellness fee" automatically added to my bill. I am sure I am not the only one who does not like arbitrary fees. I most likely will not be back unless that policy changes.
After a morning of fishing, a friend and I stopped for lunch at Rock Elm. We shared their homemade Tater Tots as an appetizer and we both agreed that they were exceptionally good. I tried their Dry Heat burger, which was big, juicy, and quite tasty. They made it the right way with fresh, sliced jalapeños (most other places use the pickled jalapeños that is mostly just sour) which made it moderately spicy. I personally give it a 5 and would order it again (but only after trying their other offerings).
Went here for brunch, great service, and delicious frittata! There isn't much for vegetarian options but I was happy with what i got. The grapefruit mimosa was delicious as well!
The food was phenomenal. Particularly the Mac and cheese. Great atmosphere. 2 issues. The people that walk around and collect plates were extremely pushy and interrupted us alot. More than once, while we were still eating, they came up and asked if they could take our plates. No one was done eating. And this happened way more than it should've. Then our waitress charged the wrong bills to the wrong cards. Otherwise the food was fantastic. But the pushy server/busboys make me not want to go there again.
Won’t visit again. Slow and unfriendly service. I don’t think our waitress smiled once. Drinks and bill were especially slow. I understand that food can take awhile, but a glass of wine and the check should be fairly effortless. It was a Sunday afternoon and did not seem overly busy.My Louie salad was a major disappointment. It was 1/3 the size of my girlfriend’s Southwest salad (hers looked way better than mine!). No butter lettuce. No cucumber. Only some cherry tomatoes. Finely shredded boring lettuce. Not much shrimp found for $15. I guess I was paying for the one lone whole shrimp placed atop the soggy mess. Don’t even get me started about the missing avocado! I had to ask. And then they charged me $2 for it. Probably because they had to run across the street for it. Yes, I was told this. Unbelievable. My bill was adjusted but no manager came out to talk to me. Our waitress knew I was very unhappy. I wish they would have just said not to order the Louie because they did not have the required ingredients that were advertised. This reflects very poorly on management. Mistakes happen, but then what do you do about it? I guess quality control and customer satisfaction is not important at Rock Elm.
