We love the play Cafe! I bring my 2, 3 & 6 year olds and all three have a blast each time we go. Here my three-year-old is giving a new friend a wash & cut at the salon.. though he told me he was adding mustard to his hair. ?The space is clean, well-maintained and the staff is friendly! They offer drinks for adults to enjoy while the kids run out their energy (try the jade cloud iced tea with one pump of cane sugar)! They have snacks for the littles as well if they get hangry, too.We love local small businesses and this is definitely a great one to support. Go!! Bring your tiny humans and sit back while they play in the enclosed space to give you a breath if you need it. ?P.S. They offer punch cards to save a bit on admission & they're worth it!! Enjoy! ?
Literally obsessed with this place! Their coffee is delicious and honestly it’s hard to get my 3 year old daughter to leave because she has so much fun playing independently…Which means I get to sip my coffee while she plays which feels like a huge break for me as a stay at home mama. Also the staff is the absolute BEST! So caring and sweet.
I love the concept. And the owner is great. It's not my favorite play cafe. The cement floors are a big turn off and the price is a lot compared to other places I have gone. It would be awesome if you could get a coffee with the price of an adult admission or no adult admission. This play cafe is my last resort because of the cost.It needs new infant gear, and general touch ups on toys and details. Like the construction area, things are ripped off and the tools don't work anymore. The music room is in rough shape as well.I love the hair salon and the cabin. The sensory bins you can buy are sooooo cute, and from what I've seen the classes are great. They also have a cool little library so if you do give it a try, bring some books to donate!
What an amazing place! I went there with my 2 year old, she had a blast. No dangerous toys or slides like in typical indoor playgrounds, I could drink coffee (which was delicious btw) and relax knowing she is not going to get hurt. They had an Easter bunny too on that day which was a bonus. Staff was also so friendly. We will definitely be back soon!
It would be made better if the toys got back to their spot more often, especially because it’s largely imaginative play.. it’s hard to play doctor with no medical supplies. It seems like they’re still figuring it out, and doing a pretty good job while they’re learning ?The price is a little bit much for this to be in our routine personally, it was $25 for me, my 2 year old and my 9 month old (which will go up again after her birthday). I would want to see the different play rooms improve before we came back (more decorations, maybe painted walls on the inside or clear places for toys to be returned to)
My son (2 years old) and I met a friend, with her 18 month old son, at the MiniSota Play Cafe. I was beyond impressed! It was so clean and organized and my son could not stop playing. He looked around for me once, to make sure I was there, and then he was off! The two hours we played flew by! And the coffee options were perfect, thank you!
Fine place. Standard toys area for kids up to about 5 or so. Limited food snacks. Adults paying is a bit much.
Overall (4.1 stars composite score):Nice place where a child's imagination can run free. They need better pricing and business optimization. There's a lot of potential here.Things to do (80% 1.5 star total): 1.2 starsThere are themed play areas like Music, hospital, grocery, post office, salon, etc.Children have props and outfits to help them role play and it looks like a lot of fun.I would have like to see more props and play areas as this place has a decent amount of unused space that could be repurposed.Service (100% of 1.5 star total): 1.5 starsShout out to Anna, the cafe manager. She really made us feel at home. The staff is actively cleaning and putting loose items away.Everyone is super nice and focused on helpingGreat service makes the experience memorableValue (70% of 1 star total): .7 starsKids are $12.50 each and parents have to pay $4 a piece.5 pack ($50) and 10 pack ($90) visits are available if you want to come more oftenThey really shouldn't charge parents to essentially provide free coverage for their own kids. The cafe area can be marketed better, which can drive the revenue necessary to offset not charging adults.Cafe drinks are fantastic.Their coffee drinks are made with Peace Coffee beans, which are fair trade and organic. This makes the coffee drinks a good value.Atmosphere (70% of 1 star total): .7 starsThis place needs music to help provide some vibe.Bathrooms are simple and clean.Baby changing tables are available.WiFi is available at 100Mbps down and 25 Mbps up.I would like to see it password protected though for security sake.
If you’re really desperate to get out of the house, this might be worth the cost. For what they charge I was expecting more. It’s basically just all the toys you already have at home in a larger space. The little storefronts were cute but I was expecting more diversity in terms of things to climb and explore rather than just toys in various rooms.More than anything, I was disappointed that none of the staff were masked. None of the other patrons were masked. I get that young children are hard to keep a mask on, but as a business catering to children and families, I expected more effort on the part of management.
We are frequently at Minisota Play Cafe and love it (every other week or so). The staff knows my daughter (almost 4) and she requires hugs from them upon entering and exiting. They lovingly oblige.
