This is a relatively new chain to this area, which already has Five Guys, Smashburger, Wahlburgers, and many local options in the fast/casual burger space. I visited the location in hyper-competitive Maple Grove, on a Wednesday afternoon. The restaurant is brightly lit (and painted) with lots of windows and a high ceiling, giving it a nice open, airy feeling.Ordered the California-style double steakburger meal, which comes with shoestring fries and a drink for a little under $10. The burger was pretty darned tasty - not too shabby for chain food. I found the fries to be too thin - eating them was kind of a fussy affair.Overall, I liked Freddy’s. I’d put it #2, behind Culver’s, which has more options, better fries (IMO), and faster service.
I hate giving any business one star in these times. This rating is not about the food which was very tasty. The french fries were not hot but still good. They were out of chili for the fries, napkins were out, the ketchup holders were out and sugar and sweetner were out. My step-daughter ordered a cookie dough mixer and got vanilla. She asked them to remake it and they handed her the cookie dough pieces to mix in herself. We talked to the manager and asked for a new mixer and got push back. They finally made a new mixer of hot fudge which was acceptable. This was my first time at Freddy's and I don't know if I will be going back.
Drive thru is SLOW. Only two cars in front of me but took over 20 minutes. My burger was doused with mustard. Fries were cold. They need to have cars pulled up if they’re still waiting on their order, so people get their food hot and fresh.
First time dining in at this location. We ordered our food and has asked for a double plain. When our number was called and I brought the food back to the table, I notice that one of the burgers was not plain like I had requested . I brought it back to the counter and showed the the receipt stating that it needed to be plain. The girl behind the counter took the tray did not say anything. She basically took it behind the kitchen and removed the onions, pickles and mustard and instantly within seconds brought it to my table. I asked her if she could please redo the burger as I could not eat onions and dislike pickles and mustard and once again she did not say one word and annoyingly took the tray. Not a pleasant experience at all.
Giving a low rating because they're getting rid of my favorite concrete. The Hawaiian is amazing and it's the only flavor that I enjoyed. Grateful that they made one last one for me even though its discontinued. It was great!
First time eating at Freddy's. Food was pretty good. Burger reminded me of the old diners. Liked the shoestring fries, and they give a generous portion. We dined in and food was a little slow coming out, but the drive thru was very busy, so it was understandable.
I was first introduced to Freddy's through a friend. When I initially tasted their burger I was like it's a burger but when I tasted the fries and there fry sauce, that is what made me continue coming back. I think their Fries are one of the best fries in Minnesota and can knock out McDonald's fries any day.
Burger was really good..the vanilla shake, not soo much. Tastes like culvers. Will go 4 chick fila one.
(Updated- 12/31/21)Backtracking on my previous review, this location's lobby is closed at 12pm for dine in and had a drive through line backed out of the parking lot. (See Photo)This location is off the highway we came here specifically I even tried to call to check lobby status and my call was answered and hung up on.I choose not to support businesses that remain closed and I hope they go out of business. I will go to Culver's where they are open for dine in.(Previous review)We choose this location over another restaurant because of their open dine in service. Thank you for remaining open
The food is great IF you can ever get it. Place is literally always closed. Even if you go during their “temporary hours” it’s closed. How they make any money is beyond me. Store hours says drive through only on Thursdays. Husband goes 2:20pm on a Thursday (today) and what a shock, drive thru is coned off and he says the place looks empty. This has happened the last three times he has gone, following the stores own given hours. I get that we’re in a pandemic, but news flash, anyone sane doesn’t want to go inside the dining room, they just want drive thru. Pay a living wage and you’ll get employees. Why is this still so hard to understand? How many more months of being partially closed and having sporadic unreliable hours will you try to continue to run your restaurant with? Because clearly your given hours on site and on google don’t match what you’re actually keeping. Husband went to Shake Shack instead, who actually WAS open. Owell.
