Pub 500 was ok! We've visited this place a few times since we lived in Mankato in the early 2010s. Their menu has a good selection with typical pub fare along with some more exotic offerings. When we arrived, there was a large crowd sitting on the patio outside. The inside was much less busy, but no one greeted us. When we sat ourselves, our waiter approached us with a very friendly greeting. We ordered the fish and chips and the pulled pork sandwich. For $17.99 I'd expect to get more than two small pieces of fish, so I'm not sure the value is there. My turkey sandwich was a bit dry, but the BBQ sauce they provided was great! I'd say that there are some more interesting places to eat in the Mankato area, but if you want to stay downtown, this is a good place to stop. There's something for everyone on the menu. There's plenty of on-street parking and a parking garage a block away.

I went to Pub 500 last night and it was my first time eating there. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw on it and chips for my side. The pulled pork sandwich was completely flavorless and was dripping with grease and oil. After adding a significant amount of barbecue, the sandwich still did not have much flavor and there was so much oil it made the bun soggy. The only redeeming part of my meal was the chips and the dipping sauce that came with it. I do not think I will be returning to Pub 500. You can get much better food for a similar price point at other restaurants in Mankato.

Great bar to go to for a quieter experience compared to the rest of Downtown Mankato. Heartier fare and good blend of traditional cocktails and newfangled twists so there's a drink for everyone there.

What do you call it when pulled pork, a burger, and bacon get lunch?A delicious meating ?Here’s the rub from two trips to Pub 500:Hickory Burger ? ? with slow-roasted pulled pork, bacon, pepper jack cheese, and signature BBQ sauceFried Chicken & Wild Rice Casserole ? ? with fried chicken, wild rice and farro, corn, peas and carrots with house made turkey gravyCheesy Turkey Sandwich ? ? pulled turkey topped with cheese sauce, grilled tomato and lightly dusted with cajun seasoning.Artichoke Spinach Dip ? house recipe served with pita bread———Why do you put three kinds of meat on the same sandwich? Bar-be-cause why NOT! ? My culinary companion had no complaints, just compliments for this handheld. He liked the smoky, fall-apart flavor of the pork, along with a lil’ burger and bacon for a robust meal on a bun ?My casserole was a big bowl of home-cooked goodness ? The fried chicken had excellent crispiness, and the grains/veggies helped contribute unique textures, with the wild rice being the highlight ? The gravy wasn’t standout, but it was made in-house which always keeps things interesting. I think the creativity of this dish exceeded any subpar components ⬆️Cheesy turkey was no fowl play ? I think these two ingredients are a heavenly match, and fresh tomato is typically a safe bet. Nothing super outstanding about this one, but I liked the ‘wich for what it was ?And in reverse order we end with an appetizer. Unlike many Minnesota sports teams, these ‘chokes are a fine way to end our lineup?? they’d be winning order any day. The pitas did not impress, but the flavor itself was phenomenal. Don’t dip before trying this one.Pub 500 gets many props for atmosphere, menu uniqueness, options, and food freshness. I’d say a few tweaks they they’d make the top 10 establishments in Mankato for me. If ya check it out, try another burger or appetizer as it seems they do those best ?

This is one of my dad's favorite places to eat, and I gotta say I see where he's coming from! Great wait staff, fantastic burger and fries, very cool feel of a restaurant. We missed the fried pickles though . . . Would go again!

I ordered an appetizer, entree, sprites, and dessert. It fared well for me and the group I was with. Parking was simple to find and no reservation needed. This is a go to spot downtown and suggested for a strong consideration.

Best Fish in town! Amazing staff, friendly definitely recommend this place ! Never disappointed ?

Amazing as always! Go for the food and drinks, stay for the ambiance.

The sweet potato fries are my absolute favorite and their special aoli sauce cannot be beat!No better place to get a bite to eat and a drink in Mankato. The staff is friendly and great at providing recommendations if you aren't sure what you are in the mood for.

I loved our waitress and hostess. We had to wait for a table as the place was hopping and our hostess kept us informed about how much longer we'd have to wait. She was friendly and informative. Our server was wonderful as well. In fact, our server and hostess are a huge reason we're giving Pub 500 a four star. The food was just okay. Nothing to write home about. It's obvious that this is more a place to come and get a few drinks and hang with friends. I ordered a dark beer and it was delicious as was my husbands hard cider. So, basically, if you want a good meal, go somewhere else, but if you want to just hang with friends and have a few drinks, this is the place.
