We had not eaten a Salut in a couple of years - that covid thing you know- and were hoping it would still be good. We were not disappointed. Had the hangar streak and it was very tasty. The mussels appetizer was fabulous.
Overrated and overpriced. Take a look at the salmon next to the tiny condiment cup and small lemon slice... That, my friends, is the smallest, driest $30.95 salmon you'll ever eat.The macaroni au gratin was so bland, my KIDS wouldn't eat it :(But... Croque Madame was awesome.
I ordered the Julia Child Special. Risotto with asparagus and scallops. Julia would roll over in her grave to have her name put on this dish. They sliced the scallops in half so they could serve 2 to 1. They fried the heck out of them! The risotto was gummy. I ate the asparagus and that was all.
Salut used to be my favorite restaurant, but the quality is not what it once was.
We went for Mother's Day and had a Pre-Fixe menu The food we had was very good although they ran out of some of the food listed on the menu. This was disappointing and they did do what they could to accommodate running out but it was still disappointing that we didn't get what was on the menu!
Mother's Day fixed menu. So the entrees were not made to order. Very evident that the eggs benedict and the quiche, and other dishes?, had been prepared in large batches 2-6 hours earlier. Disappointing because the food is usually good there.
We had an unusually bad experience. It took a very long time to see our server. The food was uneven, we had to ask to get the last items we ordered, we had to ask to have our plates cleared. Disappointing.
This was the worst experience we have ever had at Salut. Very disappointing in every aspect!
