Mother's Day brunch was superb. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because as a party of 8, spending what we did on this brunch, it was absolutely unacceptable that after using the table for 84 minutes (not even an hour and a half), a manager asked us to leave because another party needed the table. I get you're busy, but we made a reservation and had a party of 8. We were done eating but we weren't done spending time together, which is the point of dining together on a holiday such as mother's day. We didn't linger a long time after eating. And we didn't even have the table for 90 minutes.
Had a pizza. It was ok, a little soggy and hard to hold due to grease. So used knife and fork. Wait time was good and the staff seem friendly though had to flag them down initially for our order.
Ordered fish tacos and bloody Mary with Titos vodka. Amazing!!!!! We googled places to eat and picked Woodys Grille. Glad we did it was amazing!
I really loved this restaurant it has great atmosphere food is very delicious
Woody’s is a pretty good diner/restaurant with typical American food. I’ve thought breakfast is a bit better than lunch. The wait staff is always nice and attentive when I’ve gone. Probably a bit more expensive than it warrants but it’s on par for Minnetonka/Eden Prairie.
Always a good spot. Tried the sausage and pepperoni Flatbread, as well as the calamari for starters. Worked out as our toddler's dinner. Plenty of food. But followed it up with the grilled salmon and the mushroom and Swiss burger. Great choices, plenty of food, and well prepared. A great local place with lots of menu options, full bar, and family-friendly.
Visited Woodys on a Thursday night with family members on a 6:00 reservation. Not packed but a good crowd. Sat in a booth and were served waters and menus and offered happy hour prices quickly as it ended in 10 minutes. Ordered the O rings, very good. Main courses included fish & chips (2), fish tacos and, maybe because I felt like gambling, the jambalaya. Waiter endorsed it (“very good”, as If he would say it sucked, right?). Should’ve known better as the dish on noodles was an option. Jambalaya on noodles, you say? Right. I should’ve stopped right there but I plowed ahead. It appeared on rice, as I ordered, but in a white sauce that could have easily been used for fettuccini Alfredo. And worse yet: the shrimp had tails on. Argghhh. Biggest mistake was not sending it back but I tried to drown the funky flavor with Tabasco. (Didnt work.) The fish and chips were met with “faIr” comments although the fries weren’t hot. Likely because they keep them pre-made in a silver bowl on the serving counter and the server spears a handful for each order that includes them. I get the efficiency of this routine for the kitchen, but if your fries are at the bottom of the bowl, you get cold limp fries. The fish tacos were better, and the slaw was good. But the jambalaya fiasco ruined the deal, for me anyway. Drink refill came at end of meal, another botch. Oh well, live and learn. Best advice: don’t order Cajun food so far north of New Orleans.
All good! Great service and great food!
I work as an employment specialist, so I know as well as anyone that restaurant staffing is in a tough place and has been for a good while now. It's for that reason that I have to give proper credit where it's due; our experience eating breakfast here was great, and it was almost entirely due to the quality of our server, Karen, who was the only waitstaff working at the time. The restaurant was pretty full, at least 4 or 5 families at tables, and a bar that was almost fully seated, but we weren't waiting long at all. She was hustling and holding down the fort, but she still kept a calm and friendly attitude, which is more than I feel I'd be able to do. As for the food, it was serviceable breakfast fare, as one would expect from a local eatery, and I wasn't disappointed in that either. Overall, I'd recommend eating here if you're looking for a nice, simple local breakfast, with special commendation to Karen, who was just a joy.
This place was very accommodating to us. At the last minute we needed a place with a private room to meet after my mother's interment. (If you wonder why 4 ⭐ and not 5, I almost never rate 5-loved it. Just me I guess.)
