Ordered for the first time today and there will be many, many more. So incredibly good. Was craving Raising Canes and the closest one is Maple Grove. Got the chicken strips and tangy sauce from Wingman Matt’s and I never need to go back to Canes ever again - holy moly they were way better. Husband got Philly cheesesteak and we also had some fries, coleslaw, and signature wings. Everything was amazing and we will be back again and again.
If you read nothing else from this review, read this: You NEED to try this place!!! I highly recommend ordering online. This is not a chain restaurant, this is a fresh broasted chicken place. Your food takes ~20 min to prepare but it IS worth the wait! Support local business, be kind, and tip.I tried the 3 piece chicken tender combo and 4 piece broasted chicken and everything was obviously scratch made and delicious! I was stunned how much food I got for $30 (that includes a 20% tip). The chicken tenders were SO JUICY!! Look at the picture - tender and juicy, perfectly cooked!! The first bite dripped down my chin, just absolutely delicious. Crispy and juicy, I will dream of these until I get them again. And I'm normally a bone in person, not a tenders person! The fries were crisp and not overly salted. The broasted chicken was equally juicy but had a more flavorful coating than the tenders. So tender I sucked the wing meat off the bone. The sides though - normally an after thought but I would order these sides on their own! The coleslaw was to die for! Like I am heavily considering buying it the next time I need to bring coleslaw to a backyard BBQ. And I normally don't like coleslaw! Creamy, just the right thickness, with great flavor - not too sweet. Had real flecks of pepper in it but not spicy, just flavorful. The mashed potatoes and gravy were obviously scratch made, with flecks of pepper as well. Chain chicken places make theirs with potato flakes so they're unnaturally smooth - no instant potatoes here! These had a little character. Any small chunk I hit was soft and pliable, just enough texture to remind you it's real food. Just the right amount of buttery. The gravy tasted great and had flecks of herbs in it. Some fast food places make their gravy taste like brown and salt, this actually tasted like a gravy you'd make at home with real broth and aromatics. Can't wait to come here more often!
I am just really not sure where all these good reviews are coming from... The wings we got were not good at all, tasted gamey and we eat primarily venison so that says a lot. The wings were dry and chewy with a very off flavor. The chicken tenders were soggy and flavorless with a gelatinous sort of chicken inside. Needles to say we will not be back. Too bad because we went into it with high hopes only to be very disappointed.
I love wings, and I love sauce, so when I saw they only offered one sauce I was skeptical. Well, the reason they offer one flavor is because they only NEED one flavor. They are some of the best wings I've ever had. And then to top it off, their chicken fingers are absolutely amazing. Grab a side of the tangy sauce or wing glaze to dip them in- you can thank me later.
This place is close to my work and I happened to stumble upon it. There is not yet a sign out front so took a minute to realize exactly where it was. Their menu is basically all chicken items but everything I had was good (Chicken Tenders) and my co-workers all enjoyed what they got. The main guy there is really nice and from I've heard, part of proceeds go to cancer research. I will definitely eat there again.
Incredible tasting wings! One of the co owners threw in a chicken finger for us to sample and that tasted amazing as well! Highly recommend this place!
Got the signature chipotle/teriyaki glaze wings. No joke, the best wings I’ve ever had! Incredibly tasty sauce and the wings were cooked perfectly. Also tried a chicken finger which was very tasty. Will definitely be back.
Theses Signature wings with their Chipotle/Teriyaki Glaze are top notch. I travel around the Midwest taste testing wings and these guys got it right! The flavors of these delectable drums and flats are superb! They are juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside just like good wings should be. No pink at all & perfectly cooked. I didn’t get sick like I do at most restaurants from poorly handed food. 10/10 I would definitely recommend and I will be back to try again!
First visit to Wingman Matt’s was for wings and they were outstanding. Since i have already reviewed the wings i will not address them here. This trip we tried the chicken tenders and they were outstanding as well. Excellent breading provides great flavor and keeps the meat juicy and flavorful. No frozen chicken parts here. In combination with their 1000 Island style sauce with a kick, the entree is nothing short of outstanding. Considering the quality of the food, and the fact that they donate a portion of the revenues to cancer patients to offset their expenses, Wingman Matt’s is worth your while to try…i am certain you will not be disappointed. Oh by the way, the owners are congenial and veryCustomer oriented.
Ok, yum! This was our Super Bowl party meal that I ordered a few days in advance. I was so looking forward to it that I almost stopped in a day earlier because I had heard such good reviews. So, the anticipation was building. I waited a few minutes when I arrived, as they were busy. When my order was ready, Bill personally walked my food out to my car with me. He said he wasn't happy with the way a couple pieces turned out, so they wanted to "make it right." I just have to say that the customer service was over and above. And the chicken - holy cow those wings are good! And the chicken that "didn't turn out right" was delicious. I think they have a higher standard than I do. They don't have space for indoor dining, but I strongly recommend ordering from them. I will! Also, be sure to read their story.
