I am so disappointed. I used to eat here with my family when I was younger, and I was so excited to bring my own kids here. To start, the service was not very good. We were never even asked how our food was, which to be honest was bland. Then we get the bill and our kids chicken meal and adult chicken meal were exactly the same price. There was also a kitchen surcharge. When I asked what it was for, I was told the cooks. I said I didn't see anything about it until the check. She told me it was posted in the bathrooms, and at every table. (Not our first table the was broke and not at the second table either.) I am so disappointed in this whole experience.

There are two Grandma’s locations, and lots of construction which added to our confusion. We were there before the dinner rush and were seated immediately. The stained glass is gorgeous, I was plotting on stealing some…just kidding. Claire was our server and she was great. Prices are decent and the add a surcharge to your bill to “tip” the kitchen staff who don’t get tipped. We had no problem with that! Guinea’s Battered Fish and Chips (cod), was delicious. We both enjoyed it. Nice place.

Ate here for my wedding dinner just my bride and I. Felt overdressed but overall a great experience. When we left we were told our meal was paid for when we asked who paid for it the server pointed to an empty table and said the people that sat there did. I am convinced that the house paid since I don't remember if anyone was actually sitting there or not. Either thank you to whomever it was we had a great time

Ordered a walleye sandwich spaghetti sauce was liquid like soup breadstick salty as hell so dam expensive for a not so good meal and they wouldn't even take off the bill gave me $5.00 off coupon claimed they had to charge so much to pay the staff. I could have gone to McDonald's asked for food with food poison and still would have been worth it. Never going back they should shut down. My bill was $105.00 for slop

53 dollars for a Bacon burger that tasted like a cold pressed cheap burger but let's not forget there famous flavorless onion rings that are so excited about. The lady a stake cheese French and said the meat was good and then a moment later she had to grab the salt!!! Something I notice no one ever does exsasaly for meat. It's sad when you both think that the pickles and soda was the best thing about the place.

Grandma's restaurant is a must for visiting Duluth. It has a family friendly atmosphere and wonderful service. There is sometimes a wait, but the food makes everything worth it. The one I like to visit is in Hermantown across from Target and the Miller Hill Mall and is a perfect place to get lunch while you are out shopping or in the area. There is a 2nd location in Canal Park that is a good place to go when you're out touring Duluth. When I first walk in, I am greeted by smiling workers ready to find me a seat. There is a big room with half of it full of tables and booths, and the other half of the room is a bar. There are old classical rock and pop songs playing in the background that really help set the mood of the restaurant. The walls of the restaurant are lined with different metal signs and paintings, with occasional neon signs to brighten up the room. Each table has its own light hanging over it along with the huge open windows looking out at Duluth. The light brightens up the clean, set tables for the visit. After being seated, I am given a menu. I am served by very kind servers, helping me with any questions or concerns I may have. As I scan through the menu, I find many different options including burgers, sandwiches, salads, and pastas. Along with a wonderful choice of drinks, they sell Coke products and bar drinks. My recommendation to you is the Steak Cheese French sandwich. The sandwich comes with sliced beef tenderloin cooked with a rich, savory seasoning, mixed with fried mushrooms (optional), topped off with the extra flavor of mozzarella, cheddar, and cream cheese melted over the steak and mushrooms. They are all piled onto a baguette, served with a side of fries. With this sandwich, every bite is a blast of seasoning. The steak is perfectly sliced to give you a burst of flavor in each bite, with the perfectly melted cheese to make every bite more exciting. This is my favorite thing to eat when I go to Grandma’s. Next time you are in the mood for good food and good company, Grandma's Restaurant is the best place to go. It's the perfect place to grab a bite with friends or have a family dinner. I hope you consider it next time you need a place to get some good food in Duluth.

We were well taken care of, a party of 7. We ordered the onion rings as an appetizer. That’s a must! Our meals were plentiful, hot and good. We took home a box for another meal-next day. Our server did a fine job taking care of us. Restroom was clean, parking was good also. I would definitely return! ?

Absolute s***show here today. Every weekend in Duluth is nuts, every season is tourist driven. So why do places always act like deer in the headlights? We came here later in the afternoon around 1:30 to grab some lunch. Passing the mall that was jammed packed with shoppers, we set our expectations for a long wait. Well, that is what we got and then some. We put our order in and waited, and waited, and waited. Hey, it's the holidays and the weekend, we will wait. More than an hour into waiting, our food finally comes out. As our waitress is bringing out the food, she tells us that only one out of the two of the wild rice burgers we ordered was available and we would need to make a substitute of some kind in place of the KITCHEN'S error. AS SHE IS BRINGING OUT OUR ORDER THAT WE HAVE WAITED OVER AN HOUR FOR. WTF? So are we supposed to order something else and wait an additional hour for it? So that means one person at our table has no food and we are starving because it is getting close to 3 p.m. So we order an order of onion rings and start splitting up our meals to make enough food go around the table to feed everyone. A good waitress would press for our onion ring order to be at least prioritized but that never materializes. After waiting 20 minutes for the rings, we tell our waitress to cancel the order. It would be dinner time by the time we got them. Seriously, no apologies, no what can we do to make this better, nothing - just would you like to add more to your bill? Overpriced burgers and sandwiches (one burger, one kid's meal, and one beer ran was $35!, that was just one bill out of three). On top of that, they nickel and dime you with so many different charges (5% automatic charge to pay for their awful cooks, retail tax (?), multiple lines to tip your staff, etc.) followed by absolutely clueless and uncaring staff. I'm only 33 years old but this will be the last time me or my immediate family ever set foot into any Grandma's establishment ever again. Avoid this place and support a business that actually works to be deserving of your business and time.

Just wanted to give a shout out to a great waiter - Grant! He suggested great food and he was so very attentive to us! What a great experience! Food was a bit expensive but I think that all restaurants have raised their prices so they are staying in line with other competition. So glad that we stopped and so glad that we had fantastic time and that Grant was our server! Thanks!!

Not the same experience as in the past. Covid has surely impacted their business. From diminished staff to reduced menu items, it just wasn't the same. Our group still enjoyed the time together. We called ahead to reserve a table but still waited 90 minutes from door to food. Server was great but I had to help get refills for our table as she was overburdened. Know that they've added a new service fee to your bill to pay staff vs increased prices that would pad the city's pocket. Will be back but prepped for the changes.
