I absolutely LOVE this restaurant! Azteca's has the most welcoming, helpful and friendly staff in the whole Northland. From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted and had a choice of a booth or a table. The host brought out fresh tortilla chips, bean dip, and the tastiest salsa, on the house. I ordered a grapefruit Jarrito, an authentic soda from Mexico, which was amazing! The menu has so many choices it was hard to choose just one dish! It all sounded so good. I had the Chimichanga Fajita, I was looking for something similar to my favorite Philly Cheese Steak burrito from a different restaurant, I now have a new favorite! The Chimichanga Fajita with steak is beyond good! I really enjoyed the ambiance and the bright decor too. I highly recommend checking this place out. Most authentic restaurant in Duluth!
Mexican atmosphere, resonable prices, good food and good wait staff. Served quickly so lunch for work is absolutely doable. Generous portions.
Chicken carnitas were decent. Do not get the chicken tortilla soup, it was really really gross and bland, just broth chicken avocado and tortillas. And if you don’t like something and want it removed the wait staff has to pay for it!!! Bad on the business owner, that is trash
It is a pretty typical American version of a Mexican restaurant. For those of you who know the Twin Cities suburbs it's like El Toro or El Loro. The restaurant itself is run down with stained ceilings/ water marks/ etc. the painted facade on the windows has chipped away over the years. If you sit in the windows in the winter there is a nasty draft.The restaurant staff has always been very polite and kind.
Great little Mexican restaurant in Duluth. I've never been able to reach them by phone to do a call in order so that does stop me from eating there as often as I would like but when we do a work lunch myself and coworkers will typically just walk over to the restaurant.The food here is great! And once your order is placed it's usually out fairly fast. At time I've had a long wait between getting our chips and salsa and orders being taken but I don't mind. It just give me time to have more of there great cilantro salsa! The portion sizes are health and I've never been able to finish a meal (left overs are great for a midnight snack ?).
Had lunch with my 2 sisters and mom,we all enjoyed our food and Margheritas ! Service was wonderful from Ricarrdo . We highly recommend this place.
We were staying nearby on a snowmobile trip. This was close by so it was convenient. The waiter was friendly and willing to joke around with us. They had run out of rice (we arrived about an hour before close) but he let us know that as soon as we were seated. The fajitas were tasty and the chips and salsa were good while we waited for our main course.
Great food. We have been here only twice and both times we had the same server. Ricardo. Who did an amazing job both times. Highly recommend.

Great food. I had the asada burrito and loved it. Chips and salsa also include bean dip which was amazing. Will definitely come back.
