Nice atmosphere, friendly and responsive service, ok food. Wives ordered Jack Frost (blue coconut drink) and Drunken Mermaid drinks. Both were tasty and well mixed. I ordered a Knob Creek Bourbon straight up. What was brought was clearly not Knob Creek (or any Bourbon). The waiter realized his mistake and brought the right drink before I could even say anything. The original was a 12 year Scotch (also very tasty). He obviously didn't change me for the Scotch and comped my second Knob Creek (I wasn't driving - grin). My wife ordered the Walleye - best meal at our table; it was awesome. I ordered the 12 oz ribeye medium rare. The first steak brought was well done (ZERO PINK - sorry no photo). I asked for a second and the one photographed is what was brought - more of a medium. Both were seasoned nicely, but definitely not a 12 oz steak. The potatoes and other vegis on all plates were good. One of our other guests ordered the pork chop - it was ok. Looked very rare in the center. Another ordered a chicken dish. Again - ok. In short the proteins were all-right, but not something we'd go back for and Morgans is a short 10 minute drive from our homes. By contrast we'd all do the 55 minute drive to the west Metro to get the Ike's Smoked Prime Rib again... Don't know if they had someone new cooking the proteins but they were just okay. Service, however, did a great job of taking care of us...
Mushroom Risotto and French onion soup were inedible, sent back. Took ages for the other item I ordered instead, Buffalo chicken wings, were tiny baby wings and overcooked. Waitress did not refill our glasses though it did not appear she had more than a couple tables, was like she was avoiding our table. Did not seem like the kitchen cared about the quality food they were sending out.
Valentines dinner. Reservations were held. Gave us a booth like requested. Good food options. Duck had little too much fat and skin on was a little tough otherwise everything tasted good.
Stopped in tor Sunday brunch. Not a lot to choose from but what they had was good. Server was very pleasant. Will definitely go back.
This restaurant would do better in a different location and a few tweaks to the menu. However, for a restaurant located in a hotel (I was a flight attendant and visited plenty) this is better then many. The service is fantastic. Greeted by a very nice man and our waiter was efficient and very nice. The cinnamon cranberry sandwich was good. The cinnamon crust threw me off. Thought it sounded good but then my brain wanted it to be cinnamon butter toast. If the bacon was a bit crisper and more cranberries in the aioli it would get more attention. We also swapped out for goat cheese due to dairy allergies.
Great fast and friendly service. Was hoping to have exquisite food. Turned out to be average at best. Salad was horribly overdressed. Fish and Chips was bland.
I've enjoyed the food here many times and recommend it. However, our last visit, the service was so astoundingly bad I'm not sure I'll ever be back. Our food took 40 minutes to arrive, without any acknowledgement from our server, or apology. It was a weekday night, and wasn't busy. I do understand things can happen that I am not aware of and I give huge amount of grace for that as I've been a server before. But a simple, "I'm sorry" is due, instead of ignoring it. Our server then disappeared for lonnnng periods of time throughout our visit, which meant we waited every single time we needed something. Waited 20 minutes to simply order dessert. When it was time to pay, our server had completely disappeared. We literally never saw her again. I eventually got up and took our bills to the bartender who silently took our money. I appreciated that, but expected something more when I informed him our server had completely vanished.
Ordered Thanksgiving dinner since our group was small this year. Every item was delicious. Consensus was the best stuffing we have ever had. Everyone enjoyed the meal. It was agreed, we will definitely be going to the restaurant for a night out.
Good staff good food easy in and out price is a little high
Good was amazing! My husband had the pork chop and I had they turkey wrap. Never have we had a pork chop that was so good. Ever! The mashed sweet potatoes were just as good. My wrap was amazing and the service was great. Drinks were excellent. Will be back for sure!
