Food and service were on the extreme ends of the quality spectrum...the dishes were divine but the service was dreadful. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to get water and a menu, as the place was quite empty. Without getting into the specifics, I spent too much time enduring great dishes but dreadful service. Truly a disappointing decision in my part...a viable option next time would be the nearby Food Court.
the ramen here was so delicious! there was a lot of flavor, and every part of the dish was so good. the service was also great!
You can never go wrong with authentic Japanese cuisine. I could easily say this restaurant definitely reminds of Japan and not many restaurants can get this kind of quality outside of its origin country. 100% recommend to any and all Japanese culture enthusiasts.
Bartender was a Rockstar. Knew everyone's name. And those crunchy noodles? Deeelish!!
Great food, great service and very attentive staff! My partner and I were at the mall last night looking for places to get a bite to eat. I appreciate that the menu was available by the door before we sat down, but the best part of the experience was that the host must have overheard us talking about some dietary limitations I have and provided us a vegetarian menu without us having to ask for it! I know that may sound small, but the attentiveness and going the extra mile was noticed and much appreciated. I am not a vegetarian but am pregnant AND get sick when I eat cooked meat right now so having my own menu to browse without having to read all of the details with a fine tooth comb made for a much more pleasant experience for us!The food was absolutely delicious and our server was wonderful to boost!
Sushi was great! Lots of variety. Next time I'd love to try their ramen bowls.
I came to Minnesota last month to go to both a Vikings and a Wild game. While I was in town, of course I had to check out the Mall of America. The food options were certainly plentiful, so I took the advice of the locals I was traveling with and stopped into this lovely little place. Contemporary Japanese decor adorned the walls, and I settled in to browse the menu. There were a few items in each small plates category, and a good variety of rolls, with a few nigiri offerings. If you come here, they should offer you a side paper menu with the rolls that they offer off the corporate menu, Mall of America exclusives. We were able to sample five things in our time here.Duck Gyoza (Scallions and Plum Soy Dipping Sauce)Very good. Strong duck flavor. But a little light on the crisping, so the texture was kind of one-note.Pork Belly Steamed Buns (with Hoisin and House Pickles)Unctious. That's the word to describe pork belly. Add the deep richness of the hoisin, and you need these pickles to cut through all that. Very good.Shrimp Tempura Steamed Buns (with Spicy Mayo, Cucumber and Radish)LOVE shrimp tempura on a bun. Crispy as heck with the ooey gooey mayo and the fresh veggies. Solid.Firecracker Roll (Shrimp Tempura, Crab, Avocado, Cucumber, Spicy Tuna, Chili Sauce and Spicy Mayo)Exactly how it sounds like. Solid roll. No complaints.I also got to try the Mall of America Roll. I don't remember what exactly was inside it, but I do remember that the ingredients did not sing together well enough to make me happy about paying the $20+ for it. I know times are tough in multiple ways, but re-engineer this roll, please.Overall, this was a good meal. Small plates, good Japanese drinks, good times. I'll definitely be coming back the next time I'm in town.
Conveniently near other restaurants and rides. Fast service and nice employees. Sushi was great for its price. Would visit this if your more of a sushi type of guy. My only wish is the menu was only a little bigger
Food was not great, curry had a teriyaki taste and the buns they used seemed frozen and tasted old and bad. Would recommend only trying the ramen because that was the only acceptable food in my opinion. Our waitress was super nice and awesome!
Our favorite restaurant in the Mall of America. We can't make a stop without coming here for the food. The porkbelly ramen is always so good. Also a good selection of sake
