My husband pre-ordered & then picked up Kincaid’s Mother’s Day Special, a well-priced prime rib dinner for 4 to-go yesterday, & it was one of the very best Mother’s Day gifts ever! A meal cooked & presented to perfection, with detailed and easy instructions, and as delicious as if eating it at their fine dining establishment, but in the comfort of our own home, and providing me with the day of rest that I had asked for. I wish every holiday meal were as easy & as good as this was. Thank you Kincaid’s!!!
Food was just ok actually. I was disappointed. With the location, prices and the volume of servers I was highly expecting a great meal. It was unfortunately just average. The meat wasn't done through so won't be back.
Poor experience last night. Wasn’t super crowded. However our meal order got lost and we never got one of the meals. One person got served the other just say and waited for his food. We just waited. Finally, after they apologized we just left. I don’t know why the minimum rating on Google is one star. This rating should be no stars.
We just celebrated a birthday at Kincaid's tonight, so I thought I'd write a review. I don't eat fish or seafood, but I was able to still have a delicious meal. They bring you garlic & herb buttered bread before the meal. After the bread and water, it took between 45 minutes to an hour for them to take our order, but in the end they gave us a free dessert, so I'm not complaining. I ordered the coffee. It was nice and strong, but could have been warmer. The highlight of the meal was the SPICY SEARED TERIYAKI BEEF TIDBITS appetizer-- sushi rice, spicy dried pineapple, micro radish sprouts, and togarashi sesame seeds. So flavorful! Others shared salads with me. The salad was good but they have a very limited variety of salad dressings. I guess I was in a beef mood because I ordered the cheeseburger for my entree. The meat had such a rich grilled taste, no comdiments required. The fries were decent, but for such a fancy restaurant that seasons it's butter, I was hoping they would also season the ketchup. The waiter was so kind and gave us a free creme brulee. So, there are a few things Kincaid's can improve on, but there were enough good things to give 5 stars.
IMPORTANT: This review is based on an order I received through Door Dash.Dining in may result in a different outcome. I would not recommend ordering from this place until they get it together for take outVery little selection and WAY overpriced and overrated. $20: Fish and chips> soggy and tasteless, all thrown together in a cardboard container; yuck. Fish was separated from the batter and mushy. Fries were beyond irrelevant. Homemade tartar sauce was terrible, I think may they should not make their own? I may be nitpicking on this point because I was so disappointed, but they sent ketchup packets!?1!? You can't afford to send ketchup in a portion control cup ? Even diners do that! Other item: $20 Crab/Artichoke dip!! This was the most offensive; a half cup of dip in a cardboard container, taste was average, and I found 1 piece of crabmeat. It was sent with 5 pieces of hard, dry toast...by the time tax and tip were added, this "meal" cost over $50. I was livid. I have a feeling that if I dined in, it would be different? But I also know that Kincaids has a reputation for high prices and small portions...we are supposed to be going to the Bloomington Kincaids for my brothers 60th birthday celebration, I am not looking forward to giving them my money again...ugh!
Ordered the Brie appetizer and bread was so hard I couldn’t bite it. Super tiny amounts of honey and chutney. We thought the little cups were empty until we saw maybe an 1/8 tsp of honey and a tsp of chutney in the bottom of the cups. Scallop dinner was sad. 6 of the tiniest scallops I’ve ever eaten, they were the size of a nickel, burned on the edges, overcooked, dry and flavorless. The accompanying sides were not much better. Two of our orders had salmon that was over cooked and dry. The portions on all meals was shockingly small for the cost. What was supposed to be a 7oz filet mignon was the most petite little filet I ever seen. I have been a Kincaids customer for 25+ years and this was by far the worst meal I have ever had at a Kincaids restaurant. Today was my birthday and I specifically suggested Kincaids because the food is always so delicious. This was a huge disappointment. Tried to leave feedback on their website and it wasn’t functioning. Figures.
Service was okay. Food maybe a C. Ambiance was okay except they were playing pop music which seemed odd for a supper club atmosphere. Mixed drinks were a D- very watered down. If you didn't know what you ordered, it would be hard to identify what they were. Access to the restaurant is covered parking and that was awesome for such a cold night. Expensive for the food quality and eating experience.
Kincaid's is a blast right back to what it says on the menu 1986! Basically that whole area is a time portal. Anyways, getting back on topic. At least the only thing here that is from the '80s are the buildings inside and out, maybe not inside as much, but definitely on the outside and the area. The food is excellent to say the least! There is one thing that anybody, and everybody should know is that it will cost you a good amount $$. The service was amazing! Just like any place these days in the middle of the pandemic they are another one that is short staffed. With that being said please have the understanding that service will be a little bit slower and everybody should be more patient with people in any type of service industry! It is a little crammed as far as seating and the area that is carved out for Kincaid's. I would definitely recommend going to Kincaid's if you want to impress a date, or client or anyone else. There is a ton of free parking so no need to worry about where to park which is always the worst thing about going to any restaurant anywhere.
Christmas ruined. Placed an on line to go order the day before for 12:30pm on Christmas day. I go today to pick it up and find out they are not open until 3pm per the front desk person and manager there. The manager says they are sorry and oh maybe the St.Paul location can make and order and I can drive all the way there from Bloomington. Even if it was 100% free (no offer was made), I have no interest driving all the way to St.Paul and back to Bloomington for some food. In the end, all the manager did was say they were sorry and say they would issue me a refund later after having me spend 15-20 minutes waiting in the lobby as he runs around with his head in the sand. Truly horrible customer service and of all days, Christmas day when I can't even go to the grocery store to pick up some food. A sorry with nothing to try and make up for wronging the customer is nothing but a slap in the face. Christmas is ruined and have nothing to feed me and my girlfriend for Christmas.
