The food was delicious each time. The first meal I had was the oxtails very generous portions and tasty sauce. The second meal was jerk chicken it was delicious semi sweet sauce with a nice spicy kick! Each meal I had rice and peas and vegetables and plantains on the side yum! Definitely worth trying if you like Caribbean food or wantTo give it a try! Staff were polite each time I went.
Came here twice today, had their beef and chicken patties and oxtail. The staff was very nice. The food was delicious. I would love to come back and try their jerk chicken.
SHUT IT DOWN!!!!
The menu picture and what ended up in my girlfriends box are two TOTALLY different things. My pictures speak for themselves. I’ve never seen a jerk chicken be that dark and dry. Didn’t even come with what was on the picture AT ALL. Save your money and take your appetite somewhere else. I wish every business to do well and prosper but if they keep deceiving people like this, they won’t last for long.
Jerk Chicken sandwich was incredibly dull, lacked taste and flavor, soggy and awful. Aoli sauce was not good. Fries were below average. The pictures on the menu look more appealing and appetizing than the final product. It's almost as if the photos belong to an entirely different restaurant. The chicken was hardly seasoned. The buns were definitely not toasted. Everything tasted as if it was nuked in an expensive microwave. Truly disappointed and disgusted. If you had a pleasant experience, I envy you. I would not recommend.
Very good jerk chicken spicy sauce actually has heat to it good patties too
Amazing and tender meats at really reasonable prices too! They just recently opened but I definitely plan on coming back.
Good service and good Caribbean food loved it
We ate here for lunch. Hubby had the jerk chicken, which was about $7 for two pieces of chicken with 2 sides. I had curried goat, oxtail, plantains, and beans and rice. The goat was very nice, good sauce, very mild flavor. Oxtail was tender. Fried plantains were sweet with crispy edges. The jerk is a special recipe that one guy in the kitchen learned to make from head chef who is located in Toronto. The recipe was handed down from their first Jamaican chef, and it's delicious. The restaurant is accessible from an elevator in the University Square complex that's attached to Mayo Clinic by the skyway. It's easier to find from outside- right on Peace Plaza.
Jerk King is new since my last visit to Rochester and I’m so happy I stopped in for dinner. The jerk chicken is the best I’ve ever had - I’ve been thinking about it since I had it. The service is great - everyone is friendly, helpful, and prompt. Lindsey is great and made us an off-menu milk shake that was delicious. I can’t wait to eat at Jerk King during my next Rochester visit!
