I can say I've come to Bloomington with the sole reason being bonchon. The first time I had it, it was amazing and blew away all my expectations. Since the first time, ice visited this location twice more and have been very dissatisfied. The second time I came, the kimchi was rancid and absolutely dreadful. Finally I just visited a couple days ago and they were OUT OF RICE. Also sold out of 4 menu items, but seriously. Out of rice? Very very disappointed and seriously needs to be shut DOWN ???
Chicken was crunchy, but tasted high in sodium than other fried chicken establishments
I had a horrible experience eating from this place. I usually love Bonchon, but had never tried the one in the mall at the time. I had the combo with the wings and drumsticks which is usually solid. Except several hours later, I had horrible stomach cramps and chills. So much so that I couldn’t eat dinner and tried to sleep it off. The next day is when I realized... I had food poisoning from my meal. I don’t even want to tell you how many times I needed to use the bathroom in a day. It took two weeks for my stomach to go back to normal. It was the first time I ever had food poisoning and it was truly an awful experience. Please make sure chicken is at temp and being changed often. I hope no else has to go through what I did because they ate here.
I got some chicken here when I visited the mall and it was a little pricey as most things are in the mall. The chicken was really good though for the price and is worth a try for sure. Especially if you like fried chicken. The spicy chicken is pretty spicy too
Not bad, hit the spot but I’ve had better bonchon
Bonchon fast food: all was pretty delicious. Went to the Mall of America location first time. We got: tteobokki, shrimp Shumai, kimchi, and wings which were a split order of garlic soy and spicy. This is a Korean "fast food". The sauceswere pretty good, but especially the tteobokki, we loved it. Wings need more sauce, sauce was tasty but needed more. The other disappointment is that national Bonchon chain has MANY more dishes that aren't available at the Mall of America location which really puzzles me. MOM location should have ALL menu options! They should expand their menu. Don't understand this.
My boyfriend and I love Bonchon’s fried chicken. We’ve only tried the soy garlic sauce and it’s delicious! The sauce different from anything we have had before, but it has great flavor. The chicken is always super crispy. We did get the takoyaki once and it wasn’t the best. It just seemed like it wasn’t cooked all the way through. Other than that, the chicken and French fries are always fantastic.
Was excited about Korean fried chicken. To my Indian tastebuds it was hot but bland in spice department. The drumsticks are huge so chicken is not good quality. Sorry didn’t like it.
Bonchon is typically good but I think a fast food venue doesn’t work and they need a better staff. They don’t give out free water cups which can be understandable but they won’t give you water with a meal. They will charge you for a drink even if you don’t want it with a meal, unfortunately. The wings are decent but the takoyaki is incredibly bland and the katsu is dry.
food was fresh and delicious !! the chicken was super crispy but not oily and the sauce had a good spice to it. the seasoned fries were hot and crispy which was a major plus. for how busy it was the staff did amazing getting orders out in a timely matter :)
