It’s a tired old hotel. I book Marriott all the time. I’m a Bonvoy “Titanium Elite” that spends many night a year staying with Mariott. When I was walking to my room, the hall smelled like someone was cooking Indian food on a hot plate in the hall, not an appealing smell to me. The halls and elevators are old and outdated, peeling paint and wall paper everywhere. I really think it time to remodel or remove the Marriott name and rebrand it. Maybe to Motel 6 or Best Western. There are some much nicer Marriott properties like the JW and AC near by for not much more money. Oh well, I usually win choosing Marriott, this time I did not!!! Better luck next time!

This property is close to the airport but run down and not the normal Marriott experience. The staff was very nice, though. This property is best for the must-stay near the airport experience. If possible, try another spot.

Don't let the lobby fool you. It really is the only updated piece of this hotel. The rooms are old and smelly. The hallways also stink with a bizarre smell. I've stayed a few times because it is close to the airport and reasonably priced but I won't stay again. It needs a lot of TLC to bring the Marriott quality back. Back parking lot is a bit sketchy so park out front.

As a Marriott Platinum member my experiences with Marriott are wonderful, top of class, and enjoyable....until I stayed at Marriott Minneapolis Airport! What a let down. My room was dirty and smelled horrible, the wifi would not work during the entire time; the hotel is old, looks old, and has not been updated. I called down to the front desk staff to ask for assistance and unfortunately they did not care to assist. You can do better Marriott; this hotel needs work with personnel and accommodations.

When we arrived I noticed long hair on the body wash bottle in the shower stall, as well as on the shower wall. I also chased a few mosquitoes in the room during the evening. On the second night as I turned off the lights after watching tv, I noticed something wiggling out of the corner of my eye as I lay on the pillow. I assumed it was another mosquito but didn't hear the buzzing sound this time so I turned on the lights on the stand next to the bed and noticed a big reddish spider dangling from the ceiling just a few inches from me. I quickly took care of the spider. That said, my daughter was now scared to sleep and was so terrified that she wouldn't go to bed unless the lights in the room remained on (she was already terrified of spiders as it was). I immediately notified the front desk about the incident and that, as customers, we expect cleanliness and comfort. The front desk eventually replied and offered to move us to another room. I declined stating that it was already past 11 pm and we were leaving very early the next morning. This would be more of an inconvenience to have to repack, unpack and repack again in the morning after only a few hours sleep now. The message from the front desk host also made us feel guilty for not reporting this incident sooner. I explained again that I didn't think mosquitoes, alone, buzzing warranted a complaint after the first night, yet I reported the first spider incident immediately after I dealt with the first spider..we didn't delay notification! However at 3:06 am (because I could not sleep soundly after the first spider, I noticed another spider in the exact same location on the ceiling above me and the bed. Again I got up and dealt with the spider. This was the breaking point as I don't think charging high room rates for clients dealing with pests two nights in a row now was acceptable. Eventually the front desk host offered 15, 000 points in lieu of the incident to cover a free night's stay at this hotel in the future. Being from Canada and living nowhere near Minneapolis, I declined and expected another solution. I did received one night's reimbursement after declining the points offer and stressing another option. Overpriced food at hotel as well...Small bag of chips for $5...no thank you

The food, and the beverages were outrageously overpriced for the quality (basic cafeteria fare). I get we are a captive audience, but if you have to stay at this hotel, order delivery and save a ton of money. The wait staff was friendly, but the jokes, in light of our situation (stuck at the airport and paying for an extra unexpected stay) were pretty unwelcome given a glass of generic wine STARTS AT $24.

I have to fly to MSP frequently for work. I try to take the early morning flights when departing so staying near the hotel is a must. Dozens of hotels to chose from. the last 4 or 5 times, I've stayed at the Marriott Airport. The building is a bit dated, but the rooms are more than adequate. Often get upgraded to a studio suite of sorts which is great. Every time, I've requested early check-in, (once as early as 10am) and they were able to accommodate. The shuttle is reliable, and driven by professionals with personality. The front desk associates are always kind. The reason I am taking the time to review is because each time I am there, I get dinner at the inhouse bistro for some grub and a drink or two. Coincidentally, The bartender has been the same each time, Shawn. He remembers every face, and what they ordered. I noticed this on my second visit. Great stories, Excellent service, and an awesome taste in music (he picks what plays). Long story short, You get more than what you pay for. If using Bonvoy Point Redemption, its a no-brainer... Typically Under 20k. Thank you Marriott MSP!

On June 24th and June 25th, I stayed at the Marriott Minneapolis hotel. It is a nice, quiet and clean hotel. The check in is efficient and professional. We told approximately where our rooms were. In order to get to our room, we had to go through what seemed like a corn maze and the good thing is that the hotel doesn't charge for that amenity. I figure that is a $15 to $20 value right there. Once we found our room, it was clean, however, the air conditioning wasn't on when we entered and the temperature in the room was over 80 degrees. It took a couple of hours to get the room temperature down. Since we checked in at midnight and we wanted to go straight to bed, this was not ideal. The hotel is extremely quiet, which was fantastic. I appreciated the free shuttle to and from the airport. The fitness center was well maintained and had good equipment. A fitness center is very important to me. The hotel staff is very nice. We had a nice chat with Debra at coffee station in the lobby. The hotel is located a short walk across a parking lot from the Mall of America. It is a nice amenity, too. We were able to walk over to the restaurant at the JW Marriott called Cedar and Stone for breakfast and dinner. Aside from the stuffy hot room at check in, our stay was fantastic. The added value of a corn maze is not lost on me either.

My room was typical Marriott with a comfortable bed and it seemed to be relatively updated. However, the hotel exterior and common spaces are really showing their age. So, the first impression of the hotel is not positive. The shuttle service to the airport was as expected and punctual.

Awesome Chopped Salad with Grilled Salmon. Friendly staff and all served perfectly. I will be back
