Walked to Dave's Pizza because I was both super hungry, and with the weather it was closest for change (Paul bunyan trans.)1. Pizza- its delicious. I had the "10 cheese. Cheesy, just thick enough, flaky, hot.I'd totally go back despite being put off a bit by environment of feeling super unwelcome. Kitchen looks clean and in good service.2. Service- by waiter (3/9/22, glasses, brown or black hair: not only did you make me feel welcome, you actually did make sure I had what I needed. Thank you. My day felt less dark.3. Initially, I walked in never having been there before. To begin, I have a neurological problem like M.S., but lesser. I stood at the plexiglass for 5 minutes as it's what you walk up to. Glared at by kitchen staff, no acknowledgements. I'm sure I heard a choice phrase, but hey, I looked homeless. Gross, right? Then I saw 'Seat yourself'. Then I had Service. I wouldn't have minded a point to the sign, anything. Oh well.Would still go back, even after posting this.
We stopped on a weeknight evening. I’m sure they were busy with deliver/takeout but the dining room wasn’t busy. The food was good but the service was not. Our wait person forgot our drinks, forgot some of the toppings for our appetizer, and gave our pizza to the wrong table. Hey - everyone has a bad night. But we got nothing to make up for having to wait for them to remake our pizza — not even an apology. So, I recommend the pizza and hopefully you’ll have better service than we did.
We'll have to give this place a second chance. They didn't get our order right, the pizzas were overcooked, leathery enough that we opted to toss a couple frozen pizzas in the oven instead. I would expect better food given the rating, so I'm hoping it's a rough Friday night and it will improve. Otherwise $50 for pizzas we tossed in the garbage is terrible. If we try this place again, we'll check the food before we take it home.
Dave's is my favorite pizza in the world :) The crust is crisp and cracker-like, and the sauce is robust, yet balanced as far as acidity goes. My favorite pie here is the roasted veggie.The atmosphere is a total time-warp. Hasn't changed since my parents went there on their first date in the 70s.
I'm not sure why Dave's is rated so well only that Bemidji doesn't have any good pizza places in general. The crust was like leather, the sauce was sour and the toppings seemed out of a can. Not fresh. It looked sloppy and was very expensive. We will not be eating there again. We didn't even save the leftovers.
Excellent pizza..We always have Italian special. Good amount of meats and cheese, olives. Excellent and plenty to eat.
Always get a Dave's pizza when I'm in town. This recent time was possibly the best one I've ever had there, delicious crust!
First time eating there. Very good waitresses. Great service, always wiping down tables as people left.Was disappointed with no masks.It took an hour and a half to get our pizza!The cheese was like leather and the crust was like a loaf of bread. It was a deep dish. Maybe it's just not their specialty.I don't like giving bad reviews. But three strikes...
One of the best pizzas in Minnesota! Wonderful friendly service! Great family pizza place. Restaurant was immaculately clean. You can tell the owners really care about their product service and building. Highly recommend!
