As usual, I ordered enough food for about 3 people. It was a new place, and I wanted to try to get in my food for the day but also make sure I tasted the array of fare they produce here.It has a 50's vibe, though no jukebox... WUT!?The staff are all kind and attentive enough. Our server was fun to chat with, and nailed our order. Kept our drinks full. Honestly, what more could you ask for?Just one thing: When a person takes one bite of a dish, and asks you to take it back. Maybe ask if something was wrong with it.I wouldn't have asked to have money returned to me, but its basic food service. They taught me that at Davannis when I was a kiddo. The food itself... uninspired. Nothing I ate was over the top awesome, but only the pancakes and corned beef hash were disappointing. The pancakes: Ugh. Tasted like bisquick with about four pounds of baking soda added for 'flavor' or something. It was kind of like eating the cardboard that the pancake mix came in, WITH the pancakes.A couple bites of those, and I was done. The corned beef hash: I always ... always ... always ask for 'mushy, not crispy' corned beef hash. I get most people like that crispness at least present. I don't.I want corned beef hash pudding. Warmed up please.I'm quite explicit about this. Usually stating something like "microwave it if you have to, ZERO crispy bits please". :)Anyway, it was crispy as hell.I figured they would be. Everyone, everywhere does it. *Shrug*It doesn't make it right! (fight the tyrant grill monsters!)Would I return?Meh. Probably not.It really just made me want to cook for myself at home.Would I recommend it?For the foodie and dining diva... hell no. Don't do it.For the average diner, who just wants to eat decent food that is prepared well? Absolutely. 90% recommend it.
One star rating because they do have some pretty nice art work inside. From the customer service- the food was horrible.1 :Walked in with my 3 children lady just stared at us without saying you may seat yourself until I asked her if it was self setting.2:I had to get the high chair and booster and book with crayons for my kids not to mention grab myself a menu.3: She then only came over to show the kids section on the menu.4: Asked for water for all of us without iceShe only came back with one cup.5: As we were waiting for our food I noticed that as other people came in she actually sat them down and brought them a menu. She was basically more attentive.6:Pancakes were brown more from one side and "extra crispy" hash brown was more white than cooked.7: Never once came to check on us if we needed anything else or asked if the food was good.8:No I didn't leave a tip.Im really hoping it was not do to our skin colorAnd because my kids were speaking Spanish.
This was my first time here, and I loved it. I went for breakfast with friends. There were so many delicious options on the menu. I finally settled on the Minnesota Rancher's Breakfast, with 2 eggs, choice of meat, toast and hashbrowns. The bacon was huge and meaty, the eggs over-medium just like I asked, the hashbrowns crispy, and the toast just right. All our orders came at the same time. Our waitress Natalie was very pleasant and timely. They also have an ice cream counter! Overall, it was a great first experience. I'm sure I'll be back.
Great little diner. I've ordered the omelette twice now, I forget it's round like a big mound. It's not bad but it tastes different. I will order something different next time. Service has been great
Really climatic breakfast-place. Got served with a coffee as soon as entered. Ordered Oh My Gosh breakfast and to say it simply, it was decent for it's price. Would definitely recommend to try this place out.
Low quality food and lower integrity. We ordered the cinnamon french toast with bacon, and the Blueberry Maple Cake (sp.? It's an off-menu special) with sausage and eggs. The french toast meal was fine, but the blueberry cake came out harder than a scone, and the eggs (ordered scrambled) came out white and dry (unscrambled and overcooked). We did send back the "cake", and were told it was supposed to be that way. Cake in my experience is a moist dish; this slice was so hard that when I pressed on its side it would not indent. Stale. Wish they would have just owned it instead of trying to pretend that serving old food is cool.
We ordered omelets and coffee. The Grand Galaxie omelets were outstanding!! The meat & veggies were sauteed before being added to the fluffy omelets - the way God intended them to be! Natalie was our server and did a great job. Very pleasant and professional. We'll be back!
Food was above average but not great (I had chicken strips and fries, and a deep fried pickle). My companions said their soup was really good. Service seemed a bit slow for the number of customers, but the wait-staff was friendly and responsive when we flagged them down. Nice diner atmosphere.
Fantastic food, priced just right, awesome service! When I mentioned the Coke Zero was flat and tasted off they didn't just offer another kind of soda she went and changed out the ice and reset the c02. That's service you won't find at Dennys or IHOP, whomever the jerks were that complained must have just been intitled Karens, this place rocks! Perfectly cooked MEDIUM RARE (yeah the one no one seems to know how to cook) steak perfect sunny side up eggs. Thier country gravy is better than waffle houses ( yeah I said it and I will stand behind it). Hash browns crispier than a bag of old dutch chips on the outside, fluffy on the inside. I cannot praise this place enough! They even make the Elvis burger if you're into heart attacks and diabetes! 12/10
Very cute place! And the food was good. My grand daughters (4 & 7) loved it.
