The ingredients were fresh and the pizza was good. Light on the sauce which was good. Could use more cheese. If you like crispy crust this is a pizza for you. The pizza was definitely a 4 out of 5. All of the staff were professional and friendly and the atmosphere was nice and clean.
I have been going to Frank's since I was a kid in the 60s and 70s. It had always been my whole family's favorite. For decades. Until now! Since they closed and then reopened! ? What happened to the pizza?!? We just left there, and we are so disappointed. We no longer live in the area, and we made a big deal about coming downriver and getting a Frank's pizza. There's no way 12 of us are wrong when we noticed that the pizza was different. We weren't certain if the sauce and crust had changed, but the pepperoni was absolutely not the delicious, curled up, old-world pepperoni that we remembered. I don't care about the updated decor or any of that. But why change the exceptional quality of the ingredients on a pizza?!? I really can't describe what an absolute let-down the experience was.
Franks was a staple in Wyandotte Michigan for years! Then the whole parents passed to kids and well, you know how the story goes sometimes and everything avalanches from there. A new owner, completely renovated, clean and, bringing back the original recipes to the pizza!I tried the pizza last night and to my surprise, the pizza was very tasty! The crust was perfect with proper crunch, the mozzarella cheese had the taste of what one would expect and, the Pepperonis were old school baby!, with slightly burnt edges the way it’s supposed to be. They nailed the old original recipe! They have the potential to be the best pizza in the area, so I’ll stop by again in a month and test their Consistency.Awesome pizza so far! I recommend!
Took quite a while to get the food, at least 20 minutes once ordered. We got a meat lovers, cheese and pepperoni, and the works for 6 people, all small pizzas. The works was good, the meat lovers was dry and not a lot of flavor and the cheese and pepperoni got eaten by the teenage girls, so it must have been okay. Perfect amount of food for everyone. It was good but not great. We didn't walk away hungry, but we weren't stuffed either.
Not like it use to be ! When they first opened was very good and steadly downhill. Like a box of chocolates never know what your going to get ?
My first introduction to detroit style pizza came from this spot, cozy in a booth with pleasant service. Tasty indeed!
First time and was not disappointed! Very happy with gluten free and vegan option. Very flavorful! Staff was friendly and prompt. Definitely can’t wait to go back. Love the old “pizzeria” feel!
After having lived downriver for all these years, I finally made it to Frank’s. I really enjoyed all of our dinner. From the Antipasto salad to their cheese bread to the pizza, everything was great! Even finished off with mini cannolis. But the best part of the whole experience was our server Zackory. He was attentive, knowledgeable and frankly impressive as a waiter. Great job!
Sure do miss old owners of Franks. When new owners took over pizza was close to old owners but lately terrible. Went last night got cheese bread it was raw also small pizza raw. Could of sent it all back but already sat for 30 minutes. Got home both of in bathroom 3-4 times. Won’t go back. Been going there since 1972 so not Us. So sad great place before. And just like no pasta nothing. Wish them best but continue on without US.
We hadn't been into Frank's in years. Recently rediscovered them. We have had carry out once and dine in twice. The restaurant has been remodeled since we had last been in. Interior is nice and less crowded. Both times we dined In, service and food was great and fast. They have removed some of the old pasta items from the menu so plan accordingly. Definitely worth a stop in.
