Drive through worker (Adrienne) was extremely rude and condescending while taking my drive through order. I told her I would need a minute as this was my first time visiting the restaurant since it closed and she sighed. Then, when I was ready, she would say all the toppings that came on my burger extremely fast to the point where I could not hear her. When I asked if she could speak a little more slower, I got no response other than what sounded like a hand slamming the counter. Extremely terrible service. Thankfully, I spoke to someone else at the window, but I cannot bring myself to come back after that awful experience with her.
Why is there no longer customer service? This particular restaurant had closed during the pandemic and recently reopened under new ownership. We walked in, sat down and were never greeted or given menus although there were probably 7 employees that saw us. I proceeded to place an online order and decided to let the manager know about everything. Apparently there are kiosks at the front of the store which is where we should've placed our order (she pointed to a sign that was at the front of the store but had been turned around so that when coming in there was no way to read it). She took my name and would let us know when the order was ready. We got our food minus our shakes which I assumed they were making. It became obvious that wasn't the case because we were just about done when my husband went to the counter to ask about them...they were in their holding freezer the whole time. Needless to say that even though our food was hot, we won't be going back ever. In the past, this store would've been full to capacity with waitresses/waiters taking care of customers but on this day there was only us and one other couple. As we were getting ready to leave, an older man came in with his 2 grandsons. It's funny how the employees were quick to help him use the kiosk. If they had helped us when we got there, this would've been a much better review.
So I don't normally leave reviews but today I felt inclined to do so. I went through the drive through of steak and shake and met quite possibly the coolest employee ever. He said he name was Shawn and that he was the manager, he recognized me just based off my band clothes and even knew the music I have tattooed on my arm. 10/10 would highly recommend for any music lovers and for anyone looking for some amazing food. Everything was hot fresh and didn't last more then five minutes! XD The food was amazing and the service was even better. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK SHAWN. ♥️
Now that the dining area is open my daughter and I had to check it out. Before you sit down you have to order via kiosk. There are 4 kiosks and only one takes cash. The order process was very easy and most everything was customizable except for the shakes. After paying for the order and sitting down I believe we only waited 3 or 4 minutes and our order was ready. They don't bring the food out to you, there is a pickup window. Our burgers, fries, and onion rings were perfect so I think the whole experience of going to Steak and Shake is better than it used to be. Pretty much the only contact you have with the staff is when you pick up your order at the pickup window.
Absolutely disappointing, everything was made wrong, even if there was no special request the burgers still would’ve been skimped on product & made incorrectly. What was worse is they weren’t even busy.
I frequently go to the Steak n Shake Woodhaven Location and I can't say enough about the Professional and Friendly Staff. While I was waiting for my order I told the young lady that I had to use the little boy's room and would be right back. When I walked in and to my surprise, I was Totally Blown Away on how Clean and Fresh it was. I will continue to tell All my Friends and Family to Stop in and Enjoy the Great Staff and Great Food (the Steak Burgers are the bomb) at the Woodhaven Steak n Shake. There are Plenty of Burger Joints in Lincoln Park but I go to the Woodhaven Steak n Shake. Top Job and Keep up the Great Work.
I have ordered from here a handful of times and every time I encounter such kind individuals. They're so polite and friendly. Sometimes there is a wait but I don't mind at all because I know my food is being cooked professionally. The food is delicious, and the shakes are AMAZING!I will definitely continue to come here!
First time coming back here in a long time, and I have to say the food was delicious. Staff was also very friendly. Other than the good service and great food the restaurant could be a little cleaner. But still giving it 4 stars
The manager and the workers there were so very nice and helpful, to me and my mother. I felt very much at ease, and very welcomed to the place, as well. The food was also very good, and I do plan to definitely go back again. As a bonus, the restaurant was very clean, too. Great service!
Burger,s, fries, onion rings were good, service was fast. The vanilla shake was probably the best. Good food, fast service what more can you ask for? My only complaint, since it reopened my "Heaven on a bun" is no longer available on the menu. I miss the Mushroom n Swiss! I've not been there because this burger isn't available on the menu.
