Gus World Famous Fried Chicken is awesome!! It has a kick but is not over powering. Good mac & cheese and baked beans too.... Nice people
They have really great food if they manage to give you your entire order. There has not been one time that I have ordered here and gotten everything. Spent $45 on chicken and Mac and cheese because they forgot everything else. This was the last second chance I'm giving them.
Was going to have lunch there but no one greeted me and my spouse when we walked in. I walked up to the cashier to ask him do we wait to be seated or just seat ourselves, he said to seat yourself, so we seated ourselves and looked over the menu waited for 15 mins. No one waited on us, maybe because they were to busy arguing the cook and the cashier. The waitress was the worst she never acknowledged us at all, she served the other table and made the gentleman take his own food off her tray so unprofessional, will never go here again. Terrible service!!!!! restaurant was dirty, smelled like dirty mop water and old grease.
the only reason i’m giving this place 2 stars is because the food is really decent most of the time. But between not answering the phone until an hour after they open, waiting 20 minutes after i get there to get my carry out, and all of the forgotten items, i can only give the 2 stars. I try so often to get food from here because i work down the street but with the terrible service they make it really hard.
Loved the food. Chicken just a little spicy just how i like it. Slaw was excellant. Baked beans very good.. Fried green tomatoes were very good also. Remember that they have to be eaten hot and fresh, or they taste bad. Just how green tomatoes are. Will definately come back soon.
I recommend Gus’ most of the time, I love the Ambience, tattered walls, odd tables and chairs and the blues music tops it off. The food is awesome, staff is friendly but lately the love is gone and so are the blues. Society wants different types of music. That Just took away from everything. I don’t know why they had to do that. Bring my blues back.
Horrible - DisgustingService: over 25 minutes to get my simple carry out.The cook is so slow and can't multi-task.She checks the chicken by poking it with a fork not by time which I'm sure is why I received raw chicken.The Big Guy cashier was talking on his cell phone in an office while my order sat there on the counter for over 10 minutes.Food: Raw chickenThe blood actually oozed onto breadAll truth posted hereDisgustingNever Again
IT IS A GOOD PLACE FOR CHICKEN. I GET ONLY THE WINGS. VERY GOOD. I LIKE THE FRIED GREEN TOMATOES. SWEET POTATO PIE GOOD I HAVEN'T HAD IT THIS YEAR. COLE SLAW WAS GOOD, BUT, IT HAS CHANGED. I WILL TRY IT AGAIN, IT MAY CHANGE BACK. I ALWAYS TAKE FOOD HOME. THE FRIES ARE GOOD ALSO.
Im a flint local and take my chicken seriously?with that said. It was awsome everything we ordered was great. The food was cooked hot and fresh all the sides where great not one compliant from me or the wife and she eats alot of chicken.
Love the chicken so yummy I don’t like anything to hot flavored but the original is perfect for me , and the Potato salad it’s so good :) I definitely recommend this place
