My family and I have been loyal costumers to this place for years and years, but that just changed, unfortunately. I came in there today, Thursday 6/17 around 11 am, to get my bagels, lox and cream cheese on an egg bagel. I asked the gentleman behind the counter a question to make sure he was getting my order correct, being that I saw him grab a plain. Some other employee, a black woman, 3 different times looked up at me with the most evil look and “pfttttt” me, rolling her eyes, as if I’m not allowed to ensure my order is right before I PAY FOR IT?!?!?!? Newsflash- I WASNT EVEN SPEAKING TO YOU AND YOUR CUSTOMERS, LIKE MYSELF, MAKE YOUR PAYCHECK!!!!!!! I have never felt so unwelcome, unwanted and just down right uncomfortable in an establishment in my life. I will tell everyone I know to steer clear of this place with god awful and UNACCEPTABLE service!!! You chose customer service as your job; WE SHOULDN'T FEEL LIKE AN INCONVENIENCE TO YOUR DAY!! Quit your job if you hate your life that much, lady! NYB should fire you for costing them business with your rudeness.
Extremely rude staff. My first time there and the employee says “next in line”… as I start to speak and say “hello, can I get…” a rude customer speaks over me and she starts taking his order. I’m like “I am here right? Or am I invisible?”. Will never be back due ti the staff and also I ordered and everything bagel and it barely had anything on it but rye seeds which are nasty. Thanks BUT NO thanks.
Love their bagels, just the right amount of crunch to them and their cream cheeses are very delicious
Best salt bagels, like the ones we had in elementary school. Tried a flagel and had so much rye, would never do that again. Otherwise friendly staff and great chive cream cheese.
This what bagels are meant to taste like. It’s my Saturday or Sunday ritual since returning to the Detroit area 4 years ago.In the San Francisco Bay Area we call them bread circles, since any of us growing up back East knew what real bagels taste like. This is the real deal. Locks and cream cheese bagels are amazing. The older gentleman seems to be the manager or owner. Very nice guy. Both location in Bloomfield and Ferndale are clean and great quality. Try the hazelnut coffee
These bagels are the real deal. Everything here is delicious. Their cream cheese, lox, white fish salad, etc. If you are looking for a roll or bready things in the form of a bagel this is not for you. This is a bagel shop!

Really nice bagels which taste ? wonderful and amazing choices. The salmon was also very good as well as the spreads. Get your order very fast also when the store is full - enough personal and very friendly staff !

The actual bagel was ok and unimpressive but the veggies and other ingredients were very fresh and flavorful. Great that they carry vegan cream cheese.
