Nice atmosphere. Was there for lunch, but they serve breakfast all day.If you don't like food with any spice, this is your place. Waitress actually said they don't have salsa.Food was good, not great.Apparently this is a Detroit favorite. Would go back for breakfast, though.
Called them 30 minutes to close for a small pickup order, was left on hold for 10 minutes in which a woman came back and said a minute earlier the manager told her no more orders. I asked if mine could still be filled since I had already been on hold long before that. I was told no and immediately hung up on by the woman on the phone. Down the street from us, really loved this place. Really sad it's got such awful management and workers.
Absolute Horrible Management on Sunday Shift. I called in an order at 9:14pm because the Roseville location closes at 9pm. I've never ordered from Van Dyke location but passed it on numerous occasions both during the day and night. Well this particular night shift shut off there sign sometime before 9:35 as I drove up and down van dyke twice wasting my time and gas trying to locate it. Finally called the place as I was so irratated. Girl lied and said lights were on. If they were it would be impossible to pass up 4 times. They should just close up at 9pm as Roseville does if they don't want to serve after 9:30 but don't waste peoples time and gas.
Saturday April 23 I was in the area running a bunch of errands and stopped in for an early lunch. I was waited on by Eliza (I believe that was her name). She was very thoughtful, kind, prompt and thorough with a high level of attention to detail. Towards the end of my meal she let me know about the Coney Bucks rewards program and was able to get me signed up. I appreciated her letting me know about this as well as her exemplary customer service. I will definitely be back when I am in the area.
Our waitress was so rude. I asked for my order to be fixed and she threw it. She never came back to our table. We had to stand at the front for 5 minutes before we got our bill. Never did she ask how we were or if there was anything we needed. I forgot her name but she had purple hair. I am in the customer service business and I am appalled...
Food is always reasonably priced and portions are good. The food is very good this is my favorite Coney Island and they have so many options to choose from. Also, they have healthy alternative meals which I like. So I highly recommend you go check them out
We typically love National for the coneys and hanis, but I was really craving breakfast and got their french toast with strawberries. It was so good, amazing comfort food! But most of all I love the servers and their hospitality. You always feel welcomed and taken care of. It truly feels like a local joint where you feel at home.
they never disappoint, even after you put your dog down
Thank you Megan z. You sat me, you served me and smiled the entire time. Thank you. I ate alone and i am apprehensive when I walk in the front door alone. You made me feel welcome. She is awesome. I forgot to mention that my breakfast was delicious.
While I really enjoyed the service at this National Coney Island, the food didn't seem as fresh as the one near 696 and Gratiot. No knock, just an observation
