I placed an order here and when I got home I had a long black curly hair in my food. When I called to talk to the “manager” she did not sound surprised and thought it was funny. I will never eat here again I was so disgusted with the hair in my food and the customer service I received after.
They're not open very late but their food is excellent and portions are generous. The bread is house made and deliciously fluffy but the butter is sometimes not land-o-lakes... sometimes. And sometimes it is and it's excellent! Just random tidbits.Oh and the desserts? Get them :)
always good food. great staff
Country Oven Restaurant is a great place to eat. They have a wide selection and specialize in breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can get a simple meal or a 14 ounce NY Strip steak. Eggs and steak breakfast, steak Ala carte lunch, or a complete dinner meal with the NY steak. These run from about $9 to $17.The turkey club sandwich is really good and big enough for two meals. The service is very good and they give Veterans and first provider discounts.Thank you.
The Staff along with the Food were top notch
Very busy and very slow due to insuffient staffing. Seems popular with crowds wanting "homestyle cooking" and prices that aren't crazy high and food is plentiful.Bus boy had the best attitude in the place. Only smile I saw.Definitely NOT a place for a vegetarian.Note: Boiled egg does not belong on a Greek salad, chickpeas do. Leo's (just north on Hoover) has better salad and the dressing is wonderful.
Always a great breakfast ! Been there many times !
Never coming back again. I ordered a carry out for 2 kid's Chicken Tenders, a salad and a burger. Bill was over $40 when I got there and ask why. Well, the owner that took my call said I ordered the Adult Chicken Tenders. I said Kids but whatever. I was able to leave the whole order there but decided to see if they could fix it. Well, they sure did. The owner took off the extra $10, personally opened the 2 Chicken Tenders in front of me and "Corrected the number of Tenders" with her bare hands. Made me sick. Very Unprofessional.
Always reliable family style restaurant/diner. I have been going here for years and have not ever been disappointed. Dishes I recommend: Liver and onions (a very generous portion!) Always well cooked and served with lots of onions, choice of potato, vegetable, bread basket. If you order the dinner, it also includes soup AND salad or coleslaw, plus your choice of dessert. You can also ordrr all dishes what they call A La Carte, in which you get your dinner, potato, veggie, bread basket, and choice of soup, salad or coleslaw. Dessert not included in A La Carte. But get the dinner! If it is too much to eat, they will allow you to take home your soup and salad or coleslaw as well as your dessert. The tapioca and rice puddings are outstanding! Don't pass those up! I also recommend the fish and chips, 3 pieces of cod, not heavily battered or greasy, generous fries, soup, and salad or coleslaw (good coleslaw!) and dessert. I also enjoy the breaded pork tenderloin, breaded and pan fried. Very tender and served with or without gravy plus potato, veggie, bread, soup, and salad or coleslaw and dessert. The ham dinner is excellent as are the barbecue ribs. They also serve a great breakfast too! For everything you get, the prices are very reasonable and fair. Service is always friendly, quick and attentive without being annoying. Another plus: I have never been in the ladies room when it was unkempt. It's always clean and well stocked.
Amazed at the good reviews out here. I have been twice in 3 weeks and won't go back. Food used to be good. No more. I ordered the pot roast as a carry out 2 weeks ago. So tough I couldn't cut it. Order a ham & cheese omelette asked about the price. Told it was 9 when I got there is was 11. I was told that because I asked for light onions and there is a carry-out charge. Never told that on the phone. Omelette was brown over cooked and the hash browns could have been wrung out they were so greasy. Over priced and food is bad. I don't care how much food you get bad is bad!
