I'm not usually one to complain about food service because I know how it is. I usually love this place so much. One of my favorite places to go. But Captain jays fish & chicken you are a disappointment. I ordered 2 combos. Mac and cheese, and a strawberry crunch cake. I didn't receive fries with 1 combo. I got cheesecake instead, which I can't even eat because I'm lactose intolerant. Mac and cheese was half full and cold out of the fridge. We called and complained but they basically said oh well. Not buying from yall again smh. what other restaurant serves cold food? misses half of the items. then says oh well? Terrible.
Hope their chicken is better than their fish dinners.11.00 bucks gets you 3 perch dinner. Season fries were good. The staff was friendly. The Cole slaw was warm. And in a tiny cup. The 3pc perch fish. Mostly if not all breaded. Hardly any fish. You'd get more fish in a McDonald's fish sandwich. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Well I went Sunday night to get a dinner the lady that was cooking it was very rude. I got home and all it was was breading there was no fish in it the coleslaw I got three small bites. I took it up there today they were very nice the manager and the owner. They replaced the dinner. But still you don't get a whole lot of fish there's more breading than anything. Are french fries are good. I have noticed though since the pandemic wherever you go they're cutting back. I was just glad that they tried to fix the problem and they were very kind about it. Oh and it took 25 minutes there was no one else in the restaurant today it was 10 minutes
My husband went there yesterday and ordered a 10 piece dark meat and 2 pieces of catfish. The fish was fine but the chicken was overcooked and oversalted. I think it had been sitting a while.Some of the thigh pieces were barely larger than chicken nuggets and the chicken legs bones were broken. I broke open one of the small nugget sized thighs and IT WAS JUST FRIED BONES. No meat. This is really pathetic. Never again.
I placed my order with the manager. I was told it would be 5-6 minutes. 25 minutes later the manager asked about my order. She told them to get on it and they did.She wasn't very happy that everyone who came in after me got served. I did get a free cheesecake. The manager was very apologetic. I appreciated her concern.I will go back again! We'll see what happens.
Shrimp, Chicken Tenders, and Perch. Nothing had any flavor and the perch seemed undercooked. Mac n' Cheese was alright, but I wouldn't go for just that. Managers seemed friendly, but the rest of the staff just seemed lost. It took 45 minutes to get get 2 combos. It was not busy during this time. Nobody knew who's orders were who's or where they should be. Not sure if other locations are the same, but can't say I'd be very willing to try. Sorry
I came in late on a Wednesday to get fried fish. It was fried fresh to order, which meant I had to wait. The fish was fried skillfully and was not greasy or overcooked at all. Definitely worth the wait.
I went to the Captain Jay's on Ten Mile and Schoenherr for the first time. The girl that took my order told me that my food would be ready in ten minutes. I waited 27 minutes for my food and then it was cold. I had chicken, shrimp and fries. They were all cold. First and last time shopping with them for food that cost me almost 20 bucks. No exceptable.
Would not recommend. Waited from 5:40pm until 6:20 to finally get our food. Seems like noone knew what they were doing. No idea what orders were filled and what orders needed to be filled. Will not be back. ?
Terrible inedible food. Horrible customer service. Won’t help you.
