My friends and I went to Tomo for the first time and it was a fun experience. The food is really tasty and affordable. We did karaoke after we ate and it was a lot of fun. The only criticism I have is their drink selection is very limited. They didn't have any sake or iced green tea. Also the furniture in the karaoke rooms were very worn. Other than that, I think Tomo is really cool and my friends and I look forward to going back.
The food is absolutely delicious and thats the reason I still go. Sometimes service is off as it seems there is no communication between their team members, because sometimes I'll have 3 different people trying to serve me.I used to come almost once a week for a couple years. Unfortunately, they increased the price of their katsu curry by 4$ during COVID, so that increased my visit each time by 8$ plus tip for two people dining in, so I go significantly less than I used to since the price increase. However the katsudon, and the normal curry rice did not have a price increase even though they offer the same food that comes in the katsu curry(meat cutlet, curry, and rice) so I'm not sure why there was such a large price jump. 11$ for curry rice(no COVID price change), 16$ for katsudon (No COVID price change), but it's 20$ for katsu curry. So 9$ for one cutlet? Honestly it's probably because it's one of their most popular dishes and they can get away with it because they know people will still order it.
I got the Chirasi Sakura bowl. It came out in a massive heaping bowl of rice with 6 pieces of fish on top. For $19, it was not worth it. It would be a lot better with a quarter of the rice and double the fish. Friend got the tonkotsu ramen. They weren’t impressed with it either. I have no idea why this place is rated so high…
i've ordered delivery from here before and i really was not pleased. i can't comment on the quality of the food directly fresh from the restaurant but if you're considering delivery, i wouldn't. i ordered tempura ramen and my boyfriend order some sort of salmon bento box, he got chicken instead of salmon (or if it was salmon, it was REALLY BAD) and he hated the roll he got with it. we both worked at a sushi shop at the time so we both agreed that the sushi quality was subpar. the ramen broth i got was super tasty but they put the noodles and everything else to go in the ramen into a Styrofoam box, and when i opened the box it was an overwhelming smell of onion. they put a TON of onion in my box and that was what my meal mostly consisted of. we tried the takoyaki here and while the flavor was nice, i've definitely had much better quality takoyaki elsewhere. again, it was a delivery, so the quality might have diminished on the way to my home.overall, i don't know if i would order from Tomo again. my boyfriend had a super bad case of food poisoning for a couple days after and i'm not 100% certain if it was tomo or somewhere else we ate as the food itself didn't taste bad, but the "salmon" was sketch so i'm really not sure. i won't rate one star because i didn't physically go into the store, but i'm not going to give it a high rating because the foot was pretty sub-par. if i'm in the area again i might eat here just to see if my opinion changed, but i dont plan to go out of my way.
Another one of my favorite places to eat. I have not been able to order a bad meal yet. If you enjoy Japanese food or have never tried, I would highly recommend you try the Katsu Curry or Katsudon. Spicy Raman is also absolute fire.
Very tasty Japanese food! My mom and I tried things we had never had before and loved them both, Goma Hiyashi and Katsu Don. Looking forward to trying the Korean food next time. Also, the ginger dressing on the salad was BY FAR the best I've ever had!
best sushi I've had in a long time.
Great food, quick kitchen. The katsu curry hits the mark every time, and their specialty rolls are great too
Very good Ramen dishes that my son and I had. Will definitely eat there again.
I ordered the tempura udon the other night to go, now I was surprised the noodles were left out of the broth, but I assume that may be to avoid having them break down in the broth. However, I only got a single shrimp tempura with the whole thing, usually places give you at least two so I was quite shocked. Not to mention I ordered it without green onions and I guess the chefs here took it upon themselves to include them anyways, I feel bad for people who have allergies considering that.
