I had the curry pad thai with the flaming hot/top of the line spice level for lunch today. They had me concerned at the counter with the warnings and no refunds comments, but it was a perfect spice level for me. Definitely cleared my sinuses but it wasn't unbearable. The food wasn't burnt but it had a very burnt taste to it (might be a cleanliness issue actually), but honestly I kind of liked the taste. 5 stars to support this place.
Great service, tasty food, friendly owners. Gotta visit for authentic Hmong & Thai food!
Great dinner, best Thai I have had in Troy. That being said, I second other responses in that you should order under for your spice level. I love spice and the extra hot was right on the brink of too much for me. We had the fried rice and drunken noodles.
I liked their limited menu on the weekends. I got a pad thai and their limited Na Von (a Thai dessert). The pad thai has no flavoring, but the chicken kapongs must try. The thai nava, I was expecting it a but more sweet, but that's okay. I tried chicken pad thai, Nava, steam rice rolls, fried rice with sausages, and chicken kapong. To my surprise, it was interesting having to put away your own dish in a bin that's provided in the front. It's something new that I don't really see at restaurants.
I should have listened to other one star reviews. Everything was wrong with this place. Overpriced. Soup was not included with lunch as it is at most Thai places. Spring roll order included only one roll where most give three and the sauce was terrible, not homemade like most places. Food had a weird smoky taste and was super spicy even at mild. We had two different soups, both were awful. They don’t deliver your food to your table and you have to bus your own dishes, yet they have no issue asking for a tip. Terrible experience overall. The one and only bright spot was their chop sticks were nicer than most. Seriously, that’s the only good thing I can say. There are several much better Thai places in the area…go to any of them over this place.
Holy cow. When they warn you that it's spicy, BELIEVE THEM!! I usually go Medium Plus or hot at the place by my house. Got this at work one day and went mild plus and was on fire. Flavor was great, portions were a good size, but the heat. WOW. So much heat. I'm not complaining, I enjoyed it, but we forewarned they're telling the truth when they say their Medium is like most place's extra hot.
If you like heat, which I typically get it medium or medium plus, the mild plus was perfect. We ordered fried rice, chicken pad Thai and soups.I can see the “charcoal” taste in other comments, but we liked it.The chicken was delicious and I’m picky about restaurant chicken.Soups had lots of delicious fresh flavors and veggies.
Wow....loved the pad thai! Med spice was great for a spicy lover! Ordered Door dash and the service was super fast. Will order again for sure!
Awesome delicious food like always! Specials are a must try! Great service!
My search for local Thai food has finally come to an end. Thai hot burned my face off (in a good way) and the medium is a perfect heat. The Peanut Curry is top notch. This is my new go-to!
