In my opinion, Stella Trattoria is the best restaurant in the greater Traverse City area. The food was once again outstanding, as was the service.

Next time I will ask for a table in a âcubbyâ but our high top was fine for our first visit to Stellaâs.
The service and ambiance was outstanding. We will pay money for a good experience and we really got one. The food just wasnât that good though.
I have to preface my review by stating that my wife and I lived in Italy for 3 years and have returned 3 times. On the plus side, the staff was outstanding. Hayley was awesome. She was engaging without being overbearing and made my wife's birthday dinner memorable. On the other hand, we've never had bruschetta as bizarre as what was served at Stella's. We love bruschetta, and we've had bruschetta from north to south of the mainland, plus Sicily, Sardinia and Capri, but sorry, no, we will not be ordering that again. The secondo was very good, but I don't recall corn being served in any course whilst we were in country. The hostess was also very engaging and helped make the evening a plus. We will return, as we love Italian food and will give Stella's another try. If only for the staff.
As always, the food, service and cocktails were exceptional! Always a favorite!

Family get together
I have been a huge fan, proponent and patron of this restaurant for years. My latest experience unfortunately, was less than stellar. Food deletions were ignored, the special was undercooked, and timing was completely off. The first course (oysters) arrived well before our drinks. The second course (shared appetizers) arrived within seconds after, as if they were hoping to rush us out. I simply asked for my salad without raisins (I loathe them) and it arrived with. When the server took my plate after and fixated on the giant pile left over, he didnât say a word. My fiancés veal chop was rare. And throughout a five-course meal, our server appeared twice. Support staff cleared each course slowly and repeatedly left us without silverware when the subsequent course arrived. I know our world has changed, and staffing has been challenging, but when spending over $500 on a special meal out, it is hard to justify the lack of respect for our patronage. With so many new options, Iâm not sure if Iâll be back. Hopeful the owners will read this and address the slide before itâs too late.
