My wife and I decided to try this place for breakfast on our anniversary. I think this had some of the most reasonable prices considering the cost of things up around the Traverse City area. Also, the amount of food you get for the price is just right. As far as the food goes, I ordered the big hearty meal (three eggs scrambled, cubed spuds, bacon, sausage and a couple pancakes). While I wouldn't say what I had was the most spectacular, best-tasting breakfast out there, it was decent and filled me up.My wife on the other hand decided to go with the Reese's flapjacks. I can honestly say those were some of the best pancakes I have tried and I am not even a big fan of peanut butter. She also said their coffee was good.I would definitely go back to The Original Flap Jack Shack on our next trip to Traverse City, because there are a bunch of other things on the menu I would love to try.
I don't throw three star ratings normally. This was a disappointing experience. Service was amazing but it was the food that was truly lacking. Had an Omelette that was tipped with what I can only say is a Kraft single. The girlfriend had a scramble that we didn't even want to keep leftovers. I've heard positives about their savory breakfast foods but a basic omelette done so poor that I'd tell people to be leary.
The banana bread French toast and the original French toast were both really soft - bordering on soggy. Would have bet. Good if they were a little crispy.
Service was great, food was awesome and at a great price point. Kid friendly and really like what the new owners have done with the place!
Server was great food awesome. Coffee was hot. Hope to come back again. Thank you from the crew of Frederic Fire Department
Delicious breakfast w wonderful service in an environment between a diner/family restaurant. Sharon was a terrific server, getting us warmly and bringing coffee quickly. Truly enjoyed having a carafe of extra coffee left on our table. Had corned beef hash (homemade w real shredded cb) w eggs and pancakes, and a western burrito w upgrade to Cinnamon swirl pancakes ($3 extra). Sooo good. Everything was $34 w tax. NOTE: M-F they have $1 off Bloody Marys and Mimosas. (There is a full bar). TIP: When leaving,go through Walgreens parking lot to a light in order to make a left.
Six of us (two grandparents, two parents, two boys 8 and 4) got away from Great Wolf Lodge up the street for a big breakfast. Service was very good even though it wasn’t very busy on a Saturday morning. No tables accommodate more than four, so we had a half wall between grandma and mom from the boys. This worked out fine. Lots of food for the money. Recommended.
This was a unique place for breakfast. It certainly has that diner feel. The staff was friendly and service was very quick. Can't say much about the food, we all got the waffles and they were good. Definitely worth a try.
Best breakfast in Traverse City! Sharon is an amazing server! She has waited on us previously and never disappoints!
Excellent service, great food. First time there..so much more to try.
