My friend and I went to tap root last evening. We had a lovely table outside on a perfect night. We ordered the peas and carrots appetizer with a satay dipping sauce that was so yummy. Then my friend got one of the tacos and I got one of the pizzas and those were both delicious as well. Our server was pleasant and prompt. They seem to have their act together in terms of staffing and management. I am so glad to have a wonderful restaurant with great ambiance that doesn't break the bank. I will definitely go there again.
A friend and I were looking for a place to have dinner. Front Street has many options, but we saw Taproot, perused the posted menu, and decided to look no further. The interior is cool and airy, with tree roots suspended overhead, and Pothos weaving across. Chloe was our server, and she was awesome! I like that their cider flights are priced per glass, so you don't have a minimum. I tried 3, and my friend tried 5. We shared 2 appetizers - Organic Hummus with veggies and Naan bread (so tasty!), and the Peas and Carrots, which were fire-roasted, and came with a Thai peanut sauce - also very tasty! My friend ordered the Grilled Smoked Trout Caesar, and loved it. Even the idea of grilled Romaine sounds good! I will be back!
My husband and I make Taproot our first stop in town every time we arrive. We typically sit at the bar, but have sat at tables as well and have never had bad service. The food is what I would call healthy comfort food and is yummy and the selection of ciders, incredible.
I grew up in Washington state, so I'm a bit of an apple enthusiast. I was very excited to find a cider house!!! I got a flight of 6 ciders in all, and I think the Queen Ann is my favorite so far. The waitress made several cider suggestions, and I can't say any of them were bad. My husband and I a got the hummus with kale and garbanzos on top for an appetizer, and despite the fact that my husband is fairly anti-kale he really liked it as well. If I were to change one thing I would have loved to see some carrot sticks, cucumber spears, or more nan. We ran out of stuff to dip into the very generous portion of hummus! For our meals I ordered the smoked trout Cesar salad and it was DELICIOUS!!! Grilled romaine? Genius! Potato chips on a salad? Heck yeah!! I'm the type of person that normally needs more than just a salad for a meal, but this salad was meal worthy. I did not leave hungry. My husband got the pepperoni pizza and added mushrooms. The mushrooms may not be the typical slices some expect, but they were so fresh and full of flavor! I'll admit I stole a few mushrooms from my husband's pizza, and went back for more. I would have loved putting those sauteed mushrooms as an option for my salad too.... maybe an option to consider in the future.Beyond the great food and drinks, my husband and I were in the restaurant on a Wednesday evening, so it may not have been as busy as it can get on the weekends. The service was very good and our water glasses were kept full. I didn't catch the waitress' name, but she was very sweet and seemed organized and prompt even while training a new waiter.I saw many other things on the menu that I can't wait to come back and try! Hopefully they will eventually get some apple desserts on the menu too... Perhaps apple crisp or a lavender creme brulee.Highly recommended!!
I had one of their own ciders and some tacos. I was quite impressed with the quality of food and the service. Our server was very helpful and the food was served quickly, even though the restaurant was filled with customers on a Saturday afternoon. The Madagascar Vanilla Bean Bourbon Aged Cider was smooth for a 12% cider. It was served in 10 ounce sifter. The tacos were also tasty. I had one of each taco (3) on the menu. I found the Roasted Cauliflower and Mushroom tacos to have the most flavor, a little spice, but it was by no means overbearing. The Al Pastor was also good and had a mild flavor pulled pork. The chicken tinga taco was tasty, and I wanted more of that delicious Avocado sauce. Overall, I enjoyed the experience.
Fun cider tasting! We had so much fun picking different ciders and comparing them side by side. Each tasting is a 3oz pour and you can do as many or as little as you want.Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Highly recommend this.
Amazing food. The service was a bit slow and left a lot to be desired but that seems to be the norm during the pandemic. The food was really good though, honestly probably the best food we have had while out to eat during this pandemic. The chicken tacos are amazing and the potato appetizer is just as amazing. If you have the time and patience this food is definitely worth it.
Got their burger and spuds. Food was good. The burger was executed well, I enjoyed the option for gouda. When you add cheese and bacon burger was $19 and it felt like a $14-15 burger, good but not top tier. With spuds it was $23. Think I would try the pizza or something else next time.
I rarely write reviews but my experience was so phenomenal I want to share it with others. Let’s start with the menu. There were options for everyone in my family, we ordered pizza’s, burgers and a few vegan dishes all were amazing with quality ingredients! The cool vibe we got immediately after walking through the door stayed with us throughout our meal. There was a musician playing subtle background music just loud enough to create a unique experience. I branched out and tried a few ciders ( tasters) and I’m so happy I did! If you like a sweeter cider I recommend the blueberry! The vibe pulled us in and the food and service will bring us back! Until next time! Cheers!
Great food, excellent cider selection. They were super busy and obviously short staffed but we still got food out very quickly and had excellent service. Grilled cheese and pizza were excellent.
