Traverse City - you have a hidden gem!I was directed to this non-comercially advertised diner by a foodie friend with impeccable taste. The ambiance is amazing - decor and prices of yesteryear, with that hometown diner conversation in the background and waitstaff that make you feel at home. The food was just as wholesome and good - eggs, homemade hash, toast, pancakes, sausage, bacon, ham and the perfect cup of coffee.Traverse City - ? Please ? take care of this hometown gem of yours. Stop in, order some food, tip well and chat it up. I look forward to visiting on my next trip up North
Listen up Traverse City tourists. Most restaurants in the area are understaffed and weekends are especially busy, be patient and kind.My small group went to three restaurants! Yes three for breakfast before making the extra drive to Rounds. All the other restaurants had almost no staff. Rounds was happy to have us. The coffee was great while we waited reasonably for our amazing breakfast. The French toast was great and homemade corn beef hash was equally great! Our waitress Leignanne (sorry if I misspelled) was friendly, overworked, polite and attentive to our needs. Great job as always Round's!!!!!!!
Been going there for several years now and always had good to above average breakfast value. But the last 2 visits have been well below par. Not sure if it's a staffing issue or what (probably is) but longer than average wait for food (20 minutes after ordering), overcooked eggs, cold toast, cold pancake and cold bacon. Eggs and hashbrowns were the only warm thing on the plate. Went there on a Tuesday first time and a Saturday second time. Disappointing.... Willing to give them a break and try again but thought management should know about it.
Good food, excellent service, and full menu. They were really busy when we visited but still attentive. The Red Velvet breakfast was delicious and savory.I don't recommend going in large groups as the seating is more intimate. A table of 6 would be pushing it.
Great breakfast. Very good. I enjoyed it. Pancakes are top notch. Fluffy and tasty. Wonderful staff as well.
The food was great, and the service was fantastic! Our waitress Cory made sure our cups were never empty. The steak and eggs was great, and so was my 3 cheese omelette. The reason this place gets 4 stars and not 5 is because it is a bit pricier on certain things, for example, at most places a $10 omelette comes with hash browns. The steak and eggs was appropriately priced, however.
Wait staff were really nice, but the food was underwhelming. Veggies inside of omelet were pretty close to being raw. There was still some runny egg on the inside. Just kind of bland across the board. Definitely didn't leave feeling like we got our money's worth. No masks on the staff, which could be a pro or con depending on who's reading this. Really only took away the 2 stars for the food though. Maybe I've been spoiled, but I'm just used to way better food at locally owned diners.
One of the best home cooked breakfasts in Traverse City. Can't beat the value in town.
This place is an old school gem! Came into Traverse City for a few days for vacation and had breakfast at Round's. Shelly was our waitress and she was absolutely the best. Helped us make great choices for our meals. Highly recommend the corned beef hash, raspberry french toast and biscuits and gravy. Homemade breads and biscuits. Everything tastes like your grandma made it.
The homemade corned beef hash was great. The atmosphere is pretty cool, but don't come here if you want a fancy or hip decor. Hometown feel. Recommended if you want to feel like a local, not a tourist.
