Been coming here, TC, for 45 years and never went there. My big MISTAKE!!! Went there with a friend who lives in T. C. and was VERY happy I did. The breakfast omlet was really good and a Good size, coffee cup NEVER empty, our Waitress was very good at her job. My friend loves their soups, and diner meals. I most definitely WILL go again. Nothing fancy interior, just REALLY GOOD FOOD!!
Amazing breakfast. Has the good American diner flair how us Germans know it from the movies.Would definitely go there again.
I've been in Traverse City for 3 days and ate at many establishments including very pricey ones downtown. At Randy's I got the rodeo burger and fries for lunch and it is far and away the best thing I've had to eat here! The staff was very kind and attentive, the diner has a cozy "up north" vibe and the whole experience was great. I will for sure be going back before heading home. Highly recommend Randy's Diner. ??
What a fantastic diner! Came for breakfast before heading to the dunes. We came on their 25th anniversary of being in business. There's a reason they've been here that long, the service and food is amazingly delicious!Had the Spinach omelette with hashbrowns and rye, and the blueberry pancakes. Probably coming back for breakfast every day that we're in town.
We've been to several diners that started up in the 50's and 60's.....but most of those have cleaned a few times since they opened! The food here is just generic diner fare that isn't anything special, but not bad either. The prices fit the portions. We had dinner on this occasion. They are supposed to have a good breakfast but we won't be trying it unless they close up for a week and do a thorough deep cleaning and repairs. There is grease and fir on things as you look around the room, and it's a bit sticky feeling. There are supplies and boxes stored in the seating area. There was a liquid coming down the walls from the exposed pipes above that has been doing so long enough to dissolve the wallpaper. It looked like the wall mount air conditioner drain tube has been clogged for years and now drains inside instead of outside. While eating I couldn't help wondering what the kitchen must look like! Our server was attentive but I wouldn't go so far as to call her friendly. Diners usually have good coffee, and at least this one didn't disappoint in that category. So I guess to sum it up.....rather than feeling nostalgic it had more of a a Waffle House on the Interstate vibe.
We went for Brunch. Decent breakfast. Large portions. Great wait staff. However no covid protocols in place at all.
Randy's has been around for years in TC but we never think of it for breakfast when in town. I was thinking lunch, possibly soup when passing by and decided to stop in. a short wait of about 3 people ahead of us but Ive learned when people wait to get a table at a small diner like this, that usually tells you something is good. that applies here. wait staff was very cordial and the service was ok for as busy as they were. their are great choices on the menu and they serve breakfast all day from what I saw. forget the soup.. I wanted breakfast now and it was fantastic. the inside seating area isn't large by any means but its not cramped either. you get good portion sizes for the money and they do a great job at getting your order to you in a timely fashion. we'll be back for sure. maybe for that lunch yet. great job Randy's
I love this family owned restaurant. My husband and I eat there frequently. The waitresses are efficient and friendly and the food is great! You have to try the fish, and the portions are very generous. I love their soups, meatloaf and spaghetti. I also really like the spinach salad. You really can't go wrong with anything here. We would much rather support this locally-owned diner than a chain restaurant. A must try!
This is truly a gem in the Area. Locals flood this place and make it very welcoming. The food is great the portions are great, the Staff is amazing and the prices are more than fair!! You will see your neighbors and high school friends here for sure!
Ordered the spaghetti and ravioli combo absolutely amazing nailed it !!! Taste just like grandma used to make .Definitely will be ordering more food from you .
