It started good but went downhill from there. Once seated, we had to flag a server down after 20 minutes of no one coming over. Other tables were being taken care of while we waited. Our waitress had a large table and we understand she was probably slammed: As former servers we get it. The waitress was very nice and tried to make it up to us with curry chips. She took our order and was very accommodating to us but…many, many other tables were seated 30 minutes after we got there and they were fed and left. We waited 1.5 hours for our food which never came. The waitress said the kitchen lost a ticket and there was an ingredient that had issues. No one explained it to us until we asked the waitress. The waitress said she could give us free desserts. She tried to make it up. After waiting 1.5 hours for food we went to the manager and said we couldn’t wait any longer. The food finally came and was packed up for free. It was a very disappointing experience. We aren’t sure if it was the cooks, servers or management but they need to correct this.

Everything was excellent from the food, service, drinks, and the ambiance of sitting outside. We had a group of 10 and we shared and taste tested every ones food and everything was absolutely delicious. The parmesan crusted whitefish was outstanding and the sauce, I don’t know what it was, was amazing. Our group also had the meat board and nachos for appetizers and that was delicious too.And no complaints on the drinks either lol.Plus it looked like they may have been working shorthanded but the guy helping us (possible owner or manager) was hustling and getting things done.Overall a great restaurant and a must stop if you’re in the area.

Busy place on a Saturday. Waited 20min for a table. Several weddings going on. We ate lunch at the pub. Beers are good though pricey. Pizzas were good, perch sandwich delicious. Service was good. Nice setting on the lake.

I am not one to normally leave reviews but I felt that my girlfriend and I’s experience here warranted one.We went out to eat for lunch at the Jolly Pumpkin in late May of 2022. It’s a beautiful restaurant and the food and beer was quite good. However, our low review is for the service, not the food. Our server was just sub par. She messed up our beer order which wasn’t a huge deal but she did fraudulently change what we had tipped her on our receipt. We tipped with cash and made sure to draw a line through the “Tip” portion of both copies of the receipt. We later found that an extra $4 had been taken out of the account and added to the tip. We spoke with the manager on the phone who was understanding and helpful. He found the receipt and saw that an amount had been written over the line that we crossed through on the tip portion of the receipt. He apologized and refunded us the money. However, this is fraud and I do feel that it is important to note. It’s unfortunate that this happened and goes to show how important it is to hire good and honest staff, as they can make or break an experience at a restaurant.

Great food in a great location make this a place worth seeking out when in the Traverse City area. This outpost of the Jolly Pumpkin is located on Old Mission Peninsula near the beautiful shores of West Grand Traverse Bay. While the restaurant is not situated with views of the water, the property is gorgeous and there is a very nice outdoor space for dining and drinking. Many beers are available on tap, including Jolly Pumpkin's own brews as well as brews from other producers. The food is excellent. The menu is classic American, but very well-executed. On a recent visit, we had the Cherry Pecan salad, a mushroom pizza, and a fried perch sandwich. All were fresh and full of flavor. It takes a bit of effort to get there from downtown Traverse City, but the journey along Peninsula Drive is beautiful any time of year. Jolly Pumpkin is worth a visit!

We had lunch here and we were extremely happy with the choice! The food was great! The service was wonderful! We will definitely come back when we are in town again!

Nice decor, food, and drinks.

Great service and food is amazing.

We shared a flight of sour ales, truffle fries, and cheddar ale dip in a spur of the moment stop this weekend at the Jolly Pumpkin. Our server was fun and knowledgeable. Everything was great! Worth a stop if you’re in the area!

Always great food, beer and drinks! Love this place! Great location too! Cannot beat the view from the outside of the restaurant! One of our favorite restaurants in the area!
