Nice restaurant. Very "lakeside" feel to it. Food was great, the wait was a bit longer than what we were told and service was pretty good. Not great or bad, just average. Nice people though. Their bacon wrapped shrimp had phenomenal flavor and the sirloin steak was also seasoned well. Quite a bit of fat on it. The tenderloin was really great! I also loved how you could see in the kitchen and could watch food be prepared and cooked. Was on par price wise with other steakhouses.

The prices were expensive for what we received. The food was mediocre. They have a very nice selection of wines. I had the fish taco. The seasoning on the the blackened fish taco was spot on. The salsa was okay nothing spectacular. The White bacon burger, the bacon was sweet. The butternut squash soup had glazed nuts on top. The soup was delicious. The bluegill dinner was delicious and filling. The fish was a beer battered fish.

It was nice to be able to eat in an area with a water view, indoors, without sports screens and music. The food was good, tasty, nicely prepared, and wine portions large. Good value all round. Lots of fish (mine was well cooked and fresh tasting), nice vegetables - eg asparagus included, and lovely cheese nest for the excellent risotto.

My dinner was part of a sailing package on the Manitou. I had the Honey Fried Chicken, and requested it to be grilled instead of fried. It was served with a honey dressing, mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. The presentation was wonderful, and everything was so flavorful. My server was the best! The next time I visit Traverse City, I will make it a point to have dinner there again.

We were served by Erin and she provided fantastic service to our family during our visit for my daughter's high school graduation dinner. This was our second time dinning at Harrington's By The Bay and it was one of the few nicer restaurants open on a Monday and accepting reservations (they told me they will cease accepting reservations for the summer season starting in mid-June).

We went on a Sunday afternoon without reservations. The place was mostly empty, but the hostess seemed very stressed about seating us. We were seated and had a beautiful view of the lake. Our server was engaging and lovely. I a million times adored the baked french onion soup, but my meal was pretty blah. My friend had a salmon dish that was well presented and she said was good. For what we received the price did seem uber expensive but I guess not outrageous so. I would go here again.

We came up to Traverse City for restaurant week. We were so excited about going there. We hadn’t Been there before. When you spend over $100 for dinner you have expectations. The food wasn’t horrible it just wasn’t great. We rated it a c-. My husband had the lamb slider and I had the goat cheese croquette for our first course. Both were ok. You couldn’t really taste the lamb because of the feta topping over powered it. The second course my husband had the onion soup and this was the best course of the night for him. He wishes he just got a bowl of this and another entree not on the restaurant week menu someone recommended on a walk through downtown earlier. I got the root vegetable salad. It was also ok for me. We both got the seafood paella. I enjoyed it more than my husband but they topped it with 3 mussels and both of us had one shell with nothing in it. Dessert for me was the biggest problem. I order the Black and Tan, a brownie with ice cream. The brownie was cold and dry. It was almost stale. I only ate a bite and I love dessert. My husband got Carmel custard and he really liked that. Overall it was ok but nothing to write home about. Nothing either of us want to go back for again. Nothing memorable.

A very nice restaurant with a great view of Traverse Bay. Steaks and seafood are wonderful along with an excellent selection of wine. Attentive waitstaff and quick service make for a very good experience.

I'm basically a caveman. They didn't treat me like one. The food was really good and Erin my server, was great. Super happy and well fed.

Good atmosphere, food did not meet my expectations but perhaps its better in summer. Wife loved the red sangria.
