Met a friend here for lunch and was able to be seated outdoors in an area in front of the cafe on the sidewalk that's marked off for dining. I had the "Rachel" sandwich: turkey with Swiss & coleslaw on grilled rye and I requested to have avocado added. My friend ordered a made-to-order chicken sandwich on white with feta. While my friend wasn't that happy with their sandwich (it was a little dry), I did enjoy mine. Service was very attentive.Would return here sometime in the future to try their breakfast menu, which ends at 11. Note that I met my friend at 11 and the outdoor seating was just being set up when we arrived. It was a Wednesday, so not sure if outdoor seating is available after 11 only on the weekdays or if it's like this on the weekends as well.

Stopped in for a late Saturday morning breakfast. Nice menu selections and well executed. Nothing flashy here just good food and good service. They do have a selection of morning cocktails if you are looking to take the edge off which is nice.

A friend and I had lunch there today and it was horrible. No choice of drinks. The mimosa was an $8 glass of orange juice. The French onion soup was awful; to say it was salty is an understatement and it had no other seasoning. The side of bread could have been used as a hockey puck. Service was fair at best. Incredibly disappointing and a waste of money.

Excellent Lunch - the Asparagus Parmesan soup is excellent!! The Chef Salad was huge - enough to take home for dinner - typical chef but good - The Ruben was also excellent - my husband wanted to only eat 1/2 the sandwich but couldn't help himself and finished it. The waitress was extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely visit again on another trip to Traverse City.

Had the club sandwich and French onion. The French onion was a little salty but still really good, club was very good. Great atmosphere.

Went to this place this morning at 8:10 a.m. There were two in our party. Besides having us wait for a table instead of sitting us, when the man went to sit us he sat us next to ten men enjoying themselves. I asked if we could sit away from that table. The man went to seat us at another table but on opposite side of men. I asked if we could sit in an empty booth in the front because my husband would prefer not to be next to the noisy table. He said no her section was full. Both sections had tables. I said we then would find somewhere else. The man muttered something about my attitude. Really unacceptable. We drove out of our way to go to this restaurant. Enjoy your breakfast somewhere that is interested in serving you. They opened at 8 a.m.

Extremely friendly staff, fresh and healthy options, AND a great location. The service is relatively quick and the prices are fair. I highly recommend dining here. It is by far one of my favorite places for lunch!

I am not a huge Rueben person, I'm even less of a sauerkraut person. That said, let me tell you how for vacation my girlfriend and I went into the Green House Café for lunch both days of our visit specifically for the Rueben. The cherrykraut on that sandwich is absolutely phenomenal and goes good with the chips it gets served with as well.Staff was fantastic as well!

We visited The Green House Cafe. They had some fantastic soups available. My partner ordered a crock of soup and myself a bowl. We were asked if we would like bread or crackers with our soup. We both chose something different, one bread and one for crackers. The soup was hot and delicious. When we received our bill we were amazed that we were charged extra for the bread and crackers. I can possibly see an up charge for bread, but crackers? Where do you not get crackers with your soup without a charge? This was a first for us.

Small restaurant with really big flavor. I had the Spanish omelette with chorizo and salsa and it was delicious. Good size portions and attentive service makes this a really nice place for a delicious lunch
